Larry Birkhead buys lingerie for Dannielynn

The story behind that headline isn't quite as weird as you might think, but it is still kind of strange. Larry Birkhead, former lover of Anna Nicole Smith and father of her child Dannielynn, has purchased a few pieces of the late star's lingerie. No, Larry isn't a secret cross-dresser. The pink bustier and white negligee purchased at auction for a total of $2,800 are for 1-year-old Dannielynn.

The sexy items were worn by Smith for a Playboy photo shoot and Birkhead thinks they are the perfect way to help his little girl remember her mother, who died of an accidental overdose in 2007. "You know, it's not something I can show today, but something down the road," he says. "It's not going to be in any bedtime stories anytime soon."

It is worth noting that the same auction featured some Marilyn Monroe memorabilia that fetched over $100,000. Larry Birkhead may be a caring dad trying to help is little girl hang on to a piece of her late mother, but he might also be a shrewd investor. In another 45 years or so, Smith's lingerie might be worth a whole lot more.

Who does this?! Who buys a former stripper's LINGERIE for her daughter to remember her by? It's vile.

Puhleeze.... this has TMI written all over it....and he sounds like a budding pedophile to boot. Can't he just go away, take Dannielynn and move to some quiet little town and just let her be a normal little girl without trying to sexualize her at not even two years old??? She has had enough tragedy in her short life and she does not need dear ol' Dad milking the gravy train any more. Anna Nicole is dead, and she does not need to grow up to be a stripper or a low life. Let her be a kid for as long as she would be able to, for God's sake!

Well, have you paid attention to who these people are? There is no "normal" for this crew. They are opporunists, and pigs, and anyone that would have gotten involved in that world to begin with is bent. They made bad choices and now this little girl will be right in the middle of all their shyt. I feel bad that AN is gone, but she was pretty much messed up and that kid wouldnt have stood a chance there anyway. Actually no one would have been the right choice to raise that little girl. Mostly, her mother. Just guess will wait and see how they "lead" the girl into what lifestyle. God help her.

Of all the things he could have purchased for her as mementos of his mother, he picks lingerie from a Playboy shoot??? Not one of the many Marlyn Monroe-like gowns she wore, jewelry, or countless other items that she owned, but her lingerie??? It doesn't matter how old she is when he gives it to her; it sends a horrible message to his daughter.
