That's is great that they are going through with the recall. The downside is that it could take 3 weeks before you are able to get a voucher to get a new one. Where's the little one supposed to sleep?
There's gotta be a better way!

I submitted my info to their website 2 hours after the press release hit the streets. Their phone center was closed an hour after the press release hit. So, I used the website. The website didn't tell me how much I'll be getting back and it didn't tell me that it'll take 2 to 3 weeks! I just called to see what the hold up was and they told me. Thank God we bought a pack and play 3 weeks ago to take on a vacation!

3 weeks?! I submitted my info online the day of the recall, it took 2 weeks to get the recall kit. I sent everything they needed me to right away, and I've been waiting 3 weeks for the voucher. I've called several times to find out if/when my voucher was sent and I've been given the run-around. The people I've talked to say they'll send it to me in another week or so. Do these people realize that my child has been without a crib for 5 weeks? I will never buy a Jardine product again.

Just to add to the frustration...
It is nice that BABIES R US will help by allowing you to purchase a crib now and refund you when you get the voucher. The problem is, they couldn't tell me even with a model number what I could expect for an amount on the Voucher. I have no idea what the Crib is valued at as it was a gift! Very frustrating and still - no new crib! I can't believe it is legal!! It wasn't safe for the children to sleep in the cribs but what are "safer opportunities?" The parents bed? The floor? A Pack'n'play (pretty much on the floor at that point)?

I have on of the cribs that it being recalled and I am furious. I have contacted the jardine recall hotline and the babiesrus that I purchased it from and nobody can give me a clear answer in regards to how it is going to be handled. I am going to get my voucher in the mail in about 2 weeks. I was told that I can go to the babierus and get a new crib. When I get a my voucher, they can give me a reimbursement for the purchase.
Well, I was not given the amount for the reimburesement and I am not getting that much in return.

Just 3 days ago the leg broke on my BC36P and I already ordered a new bed from somwhere else thinking it was just age!! And then today I get the e-mail from babies r us!! But my husband and I decided since we have already received the new bed( and our daughter is almost 2), we will donate the certificate or a crib to the local Red Stocking Fund, which gives needed items to families in need around x-mas time!! But for anyone else the whole thing really stinks , not too mention I could have gotten a much nicer convertible crib!! Oh Well, the donating feels better than fighting with people!! But good luck everyone with younger ones I feel for you!!

We have this crib. Our daughter's a year old. How serious of an issue is this? We are only getting back two hundred and change if we return it and it's a real pain in the butt. Has any infant died from this? I don't mean to sound like an unconcerned parent, but I don't want to get all hysterical over it, either.

Hi there,
Our baby also has one of the recalled cribs, we registered in the Jardine's website and received the kit in the mail. I called BabiesRUs and spoke to their manager who told me that I can purchase a crib, and they will refund me when the voucher gets in the mail. However, when we looked at their white cribs selection and tested the rails, they seemed to be of the exact quality as the crib we have, and some of them were even different make, and more expensive than ours. So we found only one that matches our furniture, it's made by Jardine also, it's $60 more, and we were told that it's on back order and could take months before they get it in stock.
To be honest, we tested our crib at home when we got back, and it seems more sturdy than the ones they had on display. I mean we are very concern parents, but don't want to go through all this just to end up with the same type of crib, and pay more money on the top of that.

We brought a jardine crib for our Grandson 4 years ago. It was the most expensive crib that we have brought. I thought that the goverment was on the ball concerning cribs. At the time that we brought the crib, I bought a crib at a yard sale that I thought was great. I checked it out, No soda can went thru the slats etc. Oh no my daughter tells me. there might have been a recall.
We now have a brand new baby in the crib. My daughter called Jardine and was told they would send new slabs. My daughter has a new baby in this crib. My daughter is disabled and can not replace slabs. On that point a lay person replacing slabs does not appear that safe. These slabs were put in at the factory.
After saying all that, the point of my blog, We still have not received anything from Jardine.

The whole Jardine recall is a hoax. According the the recall instructions, I sent in the screws and bolts as Jardine requested in the UPS envelope three weeks ago. I have yet to receive a voucher from Jardine. Every time that I call I get the run around. One time they tell me they will expedite my voucher, the next time that the envelope is lost in the mail. It is just rediculous. I feel sorry for the people handling the phones because they have to lie to customers to cover for Jardine's messed up recall ploy. I have no hopes of receiving a voucher at this point. I am just going to by another bed from another store. Hope those of you that do participate in the recall have better luck.

Do you have the California number for them? Same thing is going on with me and I'm so upset. Cannot purchase another crib till I get the voucher!

Did you ever get your voucher? I just found out about the recall from Parents magazine, my daugher used this crib from 2003-2006 and we were one of those 42 customers with a broken slat. They replaced our side rail, but now my 15 month old is using the crib! Don't know if it's worth it to go through all of this as we have nothing but a pack & play for him to sleep in while we wait for the voucher. It seems sturdy enough, but the thought of a slat breaking and him getting caught is driving me nuts!

So I too, like most of you have a re-called Jardine Crib...and I too am upset about how this whole re-call works. I already received the Kit, and was told by Jardine to make sure that I write down a Tracking number and to put Attn: Jack on the envelope due to many of the envelopes being lost by UPS...I have not mailed the KIT back, because where is my baby going to sleep...I called Jardine again today and NO HELP...my crib also seems fine..It's too much of a headache to try and wait for a voucher..any suggestions other than sending in the KIT...

I also have a recalled crib. But I am keeping it. My son slept in it very safely for over two years. When I pushed and pulled on the slats they barely moved. I can't imagine any small child breaking the slats. Plus, I don't know if there has ever actually been a problem with my particular crib anyway. On top of that, it has been reported that only 4 children were injured, 2 of which had cuts and bruises. I may seem insensitive but that doesn't sound too severe to me. And I have no idea about the circumstances of these incidents. I feel that if I assemble the crib as directed and keep an eye on the slats then there shouldn't be a problem. Maybe if I detect a loose slat then I will apply for a voucher. I am sending away for the kit but don't plan on using it unless I need to. That's just my two cents...

We just received our voucher last week. I guess all in all it took 4 weeks between making the call, getting the kit, sending back the parts, and receiving the voucher. Our problem is we seriously think we paid more than the amount of the voucher. We were fortunate enough to be able to borrow a crib from a friend. Sorry for all your troubles... but they did come through for some of us.

And I thought I was the only one getting the run around...
I have gone as far as reporting my troubles with Jardine's handling of this recall to the CPSC. I've gotten no luck from them.
It took five phone calls to get my kit and it's been three and a half weeks since they received my hardware. I was also instructed to write ATTN: Jack on my kit return. I spoke with them two weeks ago and was told my voucher would be received in a week (it's been two weeks since that was told to me). When I called back again, there were no records of my voucher being submitted. I was given Customer Service's # and the gentleman I spoke to there said I should have it via FedEx this coming Monday or Tuesday - I am not holding my breath on that. If anyone needs the CS # it is 800-295-1980.
What I find a major issue is that you are required to purchase at BRU/TRU stores. I had a white crib and to purchase another one is virtually impossible. They are all out of stock online and in stores. If I do purchase online, then I'm out at least $50 more in shipping!

Been waiting a month for my voucher and still nothing. I am afraid they are likely going bankrupt or something. Also, I can't find a crib from BRU in white that will work either.
They have Simplicity cribs available but since their bassinets have been recalled having actually killed two babies by strangulation, I'm not going to buy one of their cribs.

I just found out on Saturday about this recal via my Parents magazine. I can't believe that we just can't take our cribs to BabiesRUs and get a new crib ASAP! That is the way this recall needs to be handled! We are still waiting for the recall kit to be delivered to our home. And her I thought it would only take 2 weeks for the entire process! This stinks! Hey does anyone know what we are supposed to do with the crib once Jardine gets the parts it wants? I was told by the Jardine hotline that we can burn it our take it to the dump or just dispose of it however we want! That makes me mad...number one why should be have to pay to dispose of it and then how do you know someone won't pull it out of the landfill and use it again! This is so insane! I am already frustrated and I am only 2 days in!

I too have a Jardine recalled crib. I received my kit in the mail about 4 days after I registered. I sent it back to them 2 days later and now, 2 weeks later, we received our voucher. I was lucky enough to have in-laws that bought a crib, so we are just using theirs until we get a new one. The only problem/question I have is, the crib that I want to replace my recalled on is only available online, but this voucher is only good in stores. What can you do?
