Denise Richard's kids in therapy
Categories: Celeb Kids, Celeb Parenting, Behaving Badly
Some moms boast about their young daughter's involvement in dance or gymnastics or sports, but not Denise Richards! The bitter ex-wife of Charlie Sheen felt the need to share with In Touch magazine that the couple's two daughters Sam, 4, and Lola, 3 are both in therapy.
"It's very sad that they need to be there, but they do for now. On the other hand, it's good they have an outlet to deal with their feelings and someone who is just their advocate." Richards told the magazine.
What I find really sad is that these girls have to have a hired advocate because Mommy is too busy appearing on television denying she sent their father emails asking for sperm and her reality show and Daddy is occupied with screaming at Mommy and remarrying the next victim wife. One of the parents should be able to get themselves together enough to act in the best interest of the kids, no matter how bitter the divorce was.
And apparently Denise fancies herself the "good parent" because in full-on Mother of the Year mode, she explained exactly why she's sharing her baby girl's private lives with a glorified tabloid before they're even old enough to go to school and be teased for seeing a shrink.
"If I can help anyone feel better about their kids being in therapy - then something else good has come of this, too."
Maybe instead of feigning concern over everyone else's children (which is obviously a passive-aggressive way of trying to make herself look like a responsible adult and Charlie as the problem) Denise should worry about her daughters above all else. A good start would be to keep her daughters' private business out of the headlines to the best of her ability.

I admit to having watched a couple of episodes of her show. (Hanging my head in shame.) I would be surprised if it lasts more than a season.
Her daughters aren't given much air time. It makes me wonder what the girls are doing and who is taking care of them while she is off buying a second pig, getting a spray tan, and calling a journalist the C word.
If you haven't seen the show, don't bother. There are hundreds of ways to spend your time more wisely, like bleaching the bathtub grout.

I think you should leave her kids out of this. They have no control over it.

How do you leave her kids out of it when the story is about the kids being in therapy? How do you leave her kids out of it when she parades them around for the photographers and for her reality TV show? Denise Richards is a terrible excuse for a mother, who should be spending her time with her kids instead of doing photo shoots for TV Guide or interviews with every news outlet and talk show in the US. She gets more than I make in a year each month to take care of her girls--she doesn't need to pimp them at every opportunity or keep talking about them and their issues.

Who is surprised that they need help considering that they are saddled with parents who don't know how to shut up and are too busy fighting to see who gets more mentions in the press. Therapy is the least of the worries they have yet to face, wait till the paparazzi and tabloids feel they are worthy enough to be news in a few months when they've become established reality stars. Denis, just call one of those LA rehabs and book 2 beds.

Even if parents divorce amicably, therapy can be a valuable tool. I'm not familiar with the Sheen/Richard antics, but I think most parents do the best they can in a divorce. Unfortunately, that "best" is sometimes down-right crappy.

Charlie tried to stop the charade that is Denise's life from being aired on TV. That is one responsible thing I can remember that he's done. While I'm at it I dont see Charlie out there talking to all these magazines and badmouthing her as much as she does him.
Makes me wonder who really is the better parent.
Btw-- I do agree that ALL kids from divorced families should be in counceling. Now let me run to Target and get Denise the mom of the year award. She should really be ashamed of herself and her Britney like behaviors.
