DailyDish: Get out of bed free cards
Categories: Sleep
Got a little one who keeps popping up after you put her to bed? Take a hint from Monopoly.
If your kids are like mine, the day doesn't end at bedtime. To encourage kids to limit the number of times they get back out of bed after bedtime, give them three "get out of bed free" cards. They can use them all, or none at all. If they need a little extra incentive, unused cards can be turned in at the end of the week for a special treat.
Three is just a suggestion; you might need to adjust the number of cards to suit your child's needs. Make the cards out of materials you already have around the house, letting kids decorate them as they please. They might even enjoy a coffee can depository, where you put their cards once they've used them up.
Now you just have to figure out what to do with all that extra evening free time!
