Shopping for jeans in the juniors section is a bad idea when you're a mom; pregnancy and childbirth and getting older all conspire to give us curves in places where teenage girls don't have them. Instead, look for jeans that are made to accommodate real hips and thighs.

Old Navy's curvy Sweetheart jeans are designed to cover your curves, AND to flatter them. And for $34.50, they are affordable (watch for sales, too -- Old Navy clears the floor every so often and marks even basics like jeans way way down).

Fit tip: When you shop for low-end jeans, take three or four pair of the same size into the dressing room. One size 12 may fit perfectly, while another doesn't work at all. Also grab one size up and one size down, and remember that the fit matters more than the number in the waistband.
