Miley Cyrus selling condoms?

Miley Cyrus is starting to get a reputation as a bit of a naughty girl. She proudly professes her love of Sex and The City and allows herself to be photographed in all manner of undress. And when she is fully clothed, her outfits are sometimes more appropriate for a 25-year-old than a teen girl. Maybe all that is why the folks at LifeStyles Condoms think she would make a perfect spokesperson for their products.Despite the fact that Miley is under the age of consent in most states, LifeStyles says they offered her $1 million to shill their products. "Pop culture proves that teens are more ready than ever to discuss the subject of sex," says Carol Carrozza, LifeStyle's VP of marketing, . "We believe that Miley is both influential and relatable to this afflicted set - and is the obvious choice to get the message of safe sex out to teens across America."
I can't argue with that. If Miley talked about safe sex, you can bet there would be lots of girls paying attention. The problem is that Miley can't talk about sex because she is a virgin and intends to stay that way until marriage. I know this is true because she has a purity ring to prove it. At any rate, Miley's rep say they haven't even received such an offer and would reject it if they did.

Didn't Brittney Spears have one of those rings? Look how well it worked out for her.

Girls and boys who take those pledges and get those rings actually are *more* likely to have sex than their counterparts - and when they do have sex, they're much less likely to follow basic safe sex practices, such as using a condom.

I think your characterization of Cyrus is a bit unfair.
She watches the sydicated version of Sex and the City. She has a couple of questionable photographs (none of which involve any nudity) and she dresses very modestly MOST of the time. She certainly doesn't dress as trashy as most girls her age.
I think this is a case of "love to tear them down."
And I guarantee she won't be hawking condoms.

I think that Cyrus tries to hide what really happens behind closed doors. She would be the perfect person to talk to teens about safe sex. It would be a smart move for her to take this job, and would help Miley's image.

Promoting condoms thereby educating people her own age about safe sex would be an extremely responsible thing for her to do. Of course the adults currently exploiting (oops sorry I meant "making tons of money" off her) oops again, I meant helping her with her career out of the goodness their hearts wont allow it.

I am a 14 year old girl, and in all honesty, if Miley Cyrus endorsed condoms, it wouldnt influence me more at all to have sex. at our age, were old enough to understand that the decisions in the contraversial photoshoot that were made are not that of a role model. quite frankly, i think the whole "Hannah Montana" squeez is overrated. i have a purity ring tattoo, but Miley could easily take hers off and forget about it just like Jessica Simpson and Brittney Spears.
