Things are going more smoothly, if not easier. It was a horrifying car wreck, but hubby is alive, although injured and requiring physical therapy for rehab. The biggest change in our lives (ok, TWO "biggest changes") is that he was left completely blind, and at the moment, neither of us are employed, so we are living (sponging?) off of the kindness of family and friends. It's an interesting journey to be sure, but also, in many ways, very spiritually enlightening. The biggest thing? I know now that I can face durn near anything!!

Anyway, this is COMPLETELY off-topic, and I apologize to everyone else who is new, or doesn't know what's going on. But thank you, Goddess Anna... it's nice to hear words of encouragement. That's one of the reasons I keep coming back here... even though we frequently disagree with other posters, we're (usually) pretty supportive of each other.

I heard some schools are teaching sex education in 2nd grade. If the girl school was, the little girl could probably figure out a meaning to the saying.

Here's the deal, speaking as someone who is, lets just say, "very familiar" with this specific company and it's inner workings, Disney is the outsource king in the industry. They have all of their merchandise, and even rides built in various places around the world,mostly asian countries. They pay them for their product and slap their logo across the front. Chances are in this case, the phrase was overlooked because it was lost in translation somewhere along the line, and seriously, do you think there is someone out there who's sole job it is to watch for possible if you really stretch your imagination, "inappropriate phrases" on Disney kid panties? I think not. My guess is not a lot of thought went into processing these panties or their sayings,and on the same token, the same amount of thought should be given to the fact that they could be misconstrued. It's funny, probably a mistake, lets move on shall we? Let's put our minds to better use like, how do we brace for this impending recession? Seems more of a practical topic in my opinion.

Not to mention, if you think logically about it, can you honestly say with a straight face that you believe that a company, who is predominantly children oriented, who has had flack for this sort of inappropriate suggesting before would seriously put their minds together and decide, "hey, our next amazing yet sick attack should totally be by putting quazi- inappropriate phrases on girls from 3-11's underwear and then sell them to the public just to see if they notice". GENIUS! If you answered yes to the last question, you may seriously want to consider looking in to counselling. My guess is then that you also probably have a theory that the dry cleaners on the corner are housing an underground terrorist group that Jimmy Hoffa is the leader of. But I digress, besides, don't you have a spaceship to catch or something?

Ame, It is too bad more parents don't realize this. Yes, they may be pre-teens but to a pervert, they are prey. Anything that brings attention to "certain areas" is just inviting looks. On the same note, I hear all to often how parents think their daughters look "cute" dressed up (or down) in clothes that would not even be acceptable in some night clubs if worn by adults. I don't mean pre-teens and teens only but 5 and 6 year olds as well. Little girls with mock belly piercings/stickers and LOW cut shirts that also show midriff...Ridiculous. Of course, those are the same parents who pitch a fuss when the schools send the kids home because of inappopriate attire.

WHY would ANYONE see the undies of a seven year old girl? I'm sure she isn't out there lifting up her skirt to show them to people. If she is, then she has a problem. WHY do they need to put stuff on young girls undies anyway? Save the type for the older girls who are having sex already.

ITA! "ass chatter" is completely inappropriate anywhere outside of a night club. I wish my children's school would ban it. My dd's are not allowed to have anything printed across their behinds. One of the largest print shops in town refuses to do any school sports team logos on the butt. I applaud them.

I agree, ever since they have started that whole trend alot of people are staring were it is not appropriate at all! I Dont care what age or Gender, anyone that wears this kind of clothing is just asking for someone to stare, Then usually the people wearing the clothing get upset with all the looks they are getting.....If you dont like being stared at all the time, Dont wear this type of clothing, simple as that. Period.

It really makes me think that the parents themselves are negatively influencing their children as a result of their own misconceptions.

Just because the kids aren't making a big deal doesn't mean it's ok. My kids wouldn't know the meaning of 'eat me'. Doesn't mean I would let them wear underwear with that on the front.
It is the job of parents and responsible adults to notice these things and do something about it.
