Need a lift to the bar? Just ask your kids.

Returning home from my company picnic yesterday, with my two thirteen-year-old nieces with me, I jokingly asked if either of them had their driver's license so that they could drive at least some of the way home and I could take a nap. (Neither one did, of course, and, really, I was just kidding.) In Texas, though, that's not something they kid about.Police officers in the East Texas town of Longview noticed a minivan turn into a driveway and bump into the house.

On the one hand, you have to give Rosenberg credit for not wanting to risk drinking and driving, but on the other hand... Perhaps it would be best if she just stayed away from the bars altogether. In the meantime, Child Protective Services is looking into the situation.

She needs to have her parental rights taken from her 'cause she's not fit to be a responsible parent. I can't believe that she could be that stupid to do this to a child who has no driving skills. That child could have gotten into a serious collision with the mini van and either got herself seriously injured or killed. That pisses me off that this woman called a mother could do this. I don't find anything particulary admirable. She needs to be arrested and have her parental rights taken away from her. It's not so much about her drinking problem, but more serious problems than that. She's suppose to be protecting her kids and instead, she stoops that low as to using her daughter whose only 12 drive her to the local bar. I have no respect for people like her.

Jim said...I used to live in East Texas, so I'm familar with the laws down there. Was this on a city road or a farm to market road? Farm to market roads, you can have 12 year olds drive. It is supposed to be for exact reasons as the name, farm to market, not farm to bar. But, this is a legal loophole she could use if it was on one of these roads. It sounds crazy, but have you ever been to East Texas...lol

The worse part is... the "mother" could drink at home, so this means good old mom is at the bar looking for her next breeding partner. Yeah, to bring HOME. Hopefully this little 12 year old won't have to defend herself from some drunk cowboy.
I hope the Child Protective Service finds her a decent place to feel safe from "mom".
This world is getting more and more pitiful.

No matter what the problem is!!!! That is just the way that we are raising them..My husband got a kidney 5 years ago in October. (by the grace of God) (God for bid) if something ever happened to him, my kids know 911!!! Sometimes we are not home with them..
In my opinion they need to throw the book at this mom...As far as I'm concerned she's not much of a Mom! To let her daughter drive her to a bar...I hope that her daugher didn't go out and joy ride..
And yes, she couldn't spend the money on a cab, because that would have cut into her drinking money and that is very, very sad!
If my husband or I would have done that, then Yes we would expect our childern to be takin away from us...because we deserve every thing that we asked for. What comes around goes around, and smacks you right back in your face.
They need to throw the book at this mom and throw the key away.
Just my opinion
I know that God Forgives Every One...He will forgive her too!
God Bless Everyone Especially Our Troops
