Mom|Style: Best petite bra
Categories: Just For Moms, Fashion & Clothing
Keep in mind that petite does not mean small chested; it means that your overall frame is smaller than most women. The Olga Comfort by Design bra comes in a wide range of cup sizes, from 36C to 42DD.
Olga Comfort by Design Tailored bra, $32.00 at HerRoom. Available in three colors.

Does anyone proof these articles before they are put online? The article lists a bra specifically for petite women and has the sizes from 36 to 42. I'm not talking about cup sizes here, just the band size. If someone is petite, as I am, they may also be petite around. (Yes, I know, petite doesn't mean thin.) But I wear a 32 which is almost impossible to find, especially in a C. So while the idea of a bra with cups closer together and shorter straps (YES!! shorter straps are definitely noteworthy as I always have to resew the straps on my bras)
where is the bra for me?

I agree sooooooo completely! I need a 32C and it's soooo rare (think it's even harder to find than my size 4.5/5 shoes). I'm always trying to make a 34 work, bc I have no choice, and I want that extra support of a band that fits. Sizes 36-42??? Petite my foot! Either that's a typo or the author is actually stupid. I LOVE the idea of shorter straps and cups closer together! LOVE it! But, if it's not in the correct size....what's the point. A 36-band size sounds possitively large to a truly petite woman, get a clue!

I agree! I am 5'1" and finding my 32D bra is nearly impossible. The straps are always too long.

It's ludicrous to think that petite sizes would start at 36. A good fit is very frustrating and hard to find. I recently went to Nordstrom's for a bra fitting and found that I went from a 32C Flower Bali which I wore forever to a 32DDD Wacoal. They actually even had black which I hadn't been able to find in years. It's a type of minimizer so it doesn't look great under all clothes but it fits and feels very comfortable. I truly gave up trying to find a 32 to fit me in Department Stores until I went to Nordstrom's. Petite sizes in general are not promoted anyway. One thing I do not like though is having the strap adjustments in the back.

Having worked in Macy's lingerie dept for 4 years I can tell you that you most likely won't find a 32D bra in stock. We only received 1 per order and regular customers were called and told when we had one in stock. That's the privilege of being a repeat customer. Your best bet would be Maidenform brand as they are designed for the petite frame. You can go to their web site and order your size online. Once you have ordered from them they will send you great offers online and end of the season sales that are so worth it. Being a 34D with a small frame you can trust me on this one. Love their bras and they are comfortable and pretty.

Why promote a bra for petitie women that only comes in sizes 36-42? Most petite women are sized 30-34, with cup sizes AA-B, at most. I know there are exceptions.
My daughter and I went for professtional fittings at Belk this summer (we were getting ready to buy swimsuits and they were advertising a "fitting specialist"). It was one of the most humiliating experiences of my life. We are both very petitie (and flat-chested, but I think the right bra would help make the most of our assets), and she measured under our arms (above the breasts). She announced my daughter as a "32 AA," and then turned to me and said with disgust, "You're even smaller than your daughter!" and said I was a "30 A." I asked her if she was sure, because I'm 30 years older, weigh 20 pounds more and have birthed and breastfed 3 children. I also pointed out that the bra she was wearing was a 32 B, and the bra I was wearing was a 34 B and they both seemed to fit us pretty well. She huffed out of the dressing room and returned with an armful of bras for us both to try on.
Actually, one of the bras she recommended I had never even heard of, and it fit us both very well and really enchanced the bustline. It is a Wacoal, petite size 34 A for me and a petite 32 AA for my daughter. It has padding and removable push-up pads and is without a doubt the best, most supportive and flattering bra I've ever worn. We bought it in beige since that was the only color Belk had, but I wish I could find it in other colors.

Ok, guys. Here it is. I have been wearing these distraction bras for years now. They specialist in petite sizes. They have AAA and AA bras and the band sizes start at 26! I saw a lot of notes here about 32C, 32D, 32DD and other petite sizes and the distraction bra comes in all these sizes and more. The bra itself is fantastic! It actually creates the kind of cleavage that I've always wanted. This girl is not looking to get breast implants anymore! Yea! Thanks to these bras. You can find them at http://www.bitasaviss.com
I hope these bras make a lot of you happy! They certainly have made me a very happy girl! :)
