Jamie Lynn Spears sends gift to Sarah Palin's pregnant daughter
Categories: Pregnancy & Birth, Celeb Kids
All politics aside, I can't imagine how hard it is to be Bristol Palin right now. Shoved squarely into the media spotlight by her mother's VP dreams, she's had to endure scrutiny by a harsh and unforgiving media. At an age where wearing the wrong style of shirt to school can cause a teen to feel major embarrassment, Bristol is now being watched closely by an entire nation.Jamie Lynn Spears thinks she knows how Bristol feels. In a show of solidarity, she recently sent Bristol a set of $60 pink burp clothes to the teen. Jamie Lynn gave birth to baby Maddie in June, at the age of 17, and like Bristol plans to marry her baby's father, Casey Aldridge.
Jamie Lynn's gesture was nice, but her circumstances were far different. As Britney's sister and a celeb in her own right, Jamie Lynn was accustomed to the glaring flashbulbs of the paparazzi. When she found out she was pregnant, she knew what she was facing by announcing it. But while Bristol probably expected her pregnancy news would cause a small stir in Alaska, I'm sure she never in a million years expected this.
On a lighter note... who pays $60 for a burp cloth?

Bethany you really can write some conservative trash talk, just puts you right in the same white trash boat as Palin.
Palin's pregnant teenage daughter provides a poor example to teenage kids. Bristol is being watched because her mum decided to take this political path, its part and parcel of it, just like celebrity kids have to put up with it. Anyway, aren't you touting not to talk about Palin's kids, so stop posting crap like this.

Steve,
I think you and I sit closer on the political fence than you think. But while we should all be scrutinizing Sarah Palin's experience and background and her ability to lead very, very carefully, I think that, as adults, we can also separate our feelings for her from her daughter. Bristol is a teenager who never asked to be put into the position of famous pregnant teenager, and that is all I was saying.
And I never "touted" that we should stop talking about Palin's kids. I believe kids should be off limits, but Palin certainly used them to her benefit last night, so who's to say what direction this election will take.
Thanks for reading,
Bethany

I think the descision to have Sarah Palin's daughter marry the father of her baby needs to be re-evaluated. Last night he looked like he wanted to be anywhere but where he was. This marriage is doomed before it has even begun. Why does she need to marry this kid? I think Sarah Palin needs to put her daughter's happiness before her own career. This seems like a politcal move rather then a descision based on the future of her daughter. She is first and for most a mother and she needs to remember that.

I wonder if McCain feels stupid now running ads comparing his competition to Britney. I think a Spears/Palin comparison is much more apropos.

jj and Steve,
a certain other candidate's mother was also white and a teen mom. I assume you will be calling her white trash as well?

the media is so hypocritical! since when did they become this great moral judge? there is so much crap on tv that is completely immoral and now all of a sudden the media is going to blast this teen for her immoral behavior? its so rediculous. i agree with bethany, the kids should be left out of this.

What has happened to America ? I travel all over the world and I we are already the laughing stock of the planet now we are going to potentially have a vice president who is a low rent redneck? If this happens the U.S. is sunk.
