Amy Poehler invites "Smart Girls" to her party
Filed under: Celeb Parents, Media
Expectant mom Amy Poehler is leaving SNL, a development that definitely disappoints her fans. But her new project Smart Girls at the Party might be pretty exciting in its own right. Amy teamed up with pals Meredith Walker, who's produced for Nick News and is head of talent for SNL, and musician Amy Miles, who also host's PBS's LOMAX: Hound of Music to create a web show just for young girls.Smart Girls will interview a different girl each episode, someone who is "changing the world just by being herself," and hopes to build confidence in young girls so that they can act on their own hopes and aspirations. Oh, and it also looks to be pretty funny.
I'm a sucker for anything out there that lifts girls out of the current shop-till-you-drop culture, so we'll be checking out Smart Girls the minute it goes live, which should be some time this month on On Networks. Watch a trailer for Smart Girls at the Party here.
