Miley Cyrus Looking to Divorce her Parents?
Categories: Celeb Kids, Celeb Parenting, Rumors

Reports are circulating that 16-year-old pop star Miley Cyrus has decided she's all grown up and no longer has any need or desire for parental guidance. A lot of teens feel that way, but according to reports, Miley is considering actually doing something about it.
She's said to be discussing with her lawyer a Petition of Emancipation, which would effectively free her from the restraints of being a minor and allow her to make her own decisions about her life. Such a move would put her in control not only of her career and finances, but of her personal life as well.
And it's that personal life that has people talking. Up until recently, dad Billy Ray was said to be very accepting of Miley's relationship with 20-year-old underwear model Justin Gaston. But Star Magazine recently reported that Billy Ray is having second thoughts about the other older man in Miley's life and is trying to put an end to the relationship. I wonder if that could have anything to do with her desire to divorce her parents?
Considering the source, or lack thereof, there is a good chance this isn't true. But speaking as a former precocious teen in a hurry to grow up, I can totally see where it could be true. But for Miley's sake, I hope it isn't. She may be more worldly than most girls her age, but she's still a child with very little life experience. Legal emancipation would put her in a position to make potentially disastrous decisions not only about her career, but her life as well.

My husband was emancipated at 17 and he turned out just fine. It wasn't that he didn't have his parents' support or anything, it just made sense for him at the time. He was able to make legal decisions without having to get parental consent when he was out and about.
My brother probably should have done this since he went away to college and had a late november birthday. He had to get my parent's permission to take classes and go on class trips for the frist two months in college; a difficult task from different areas of the state. Emancipation would have worked perfectly for this.
I don't necessarily agree with her personal decisions, and I don't know the entire situation, but I don't think it's a horrible thing.

Girl, do you think you would be where you are today witihout your father's name. Shame on you. You are becoming a poor model for young kids. Family is the most important thing in your life and money can't change or buy new family. Get your head straight girl before you become another Britney Spears.

You can tell by your comment that you are 12 too. Its ignorant and hateful. You do not know her as a person therefore you can not judge her mental state by her actions. Because didn't anybody ever teach you to not judge people by their actions or appearances.

i don't think that emancipating her parents at this age would be a smart career choice. shes happy in her relationship and her dad is very accepting of him and his age. She still is a little young, but i don't think that she would do something like this.

Wasn't there a post earlier this week on this website in which she said she planned to live at home for a long time?
This sounds completely made up once again.

I don't know if this is gossip or not, but it's been circulated around enough and out of good conscience I need to say a few things about this young girl named Miley.
First, who gave her the right to even THINK that she can "divorce her parents?" God created the holy bond between one man and one woman, for one life. No one can break that bond unless there is infidelity, adultery in the marriage. Matthew 5:32 and Matthew 19:9 says this. Plus, Malachi 2:16 says that God hates divorce.
Two, if Miley says God is her focus, she should consider reading and studying, and meditating on the bible more instead of just memorizing a verse to impress Oprah, who even though gives money away, doesn't know what real morals are.
If Miley is a "christian" as she professes to be, she needs to straighten up her life and get out of Hollywood, because on judgment day, we will all have to take an account, accept consequences for what we say and do.
Last, those of you who say that I am judging, you are right, but not in the same sense that you think; Matthew 7 says that we are to judge righteous judgment, and the bible also says to judge a tree by its fruit. So now, Miley and many other people in Hollywood have apples growing on their banana trees. Meaning, that what they said is supposed to be there isn't there and it's misleading and sinful! "Take heed lest ye fall!"
