Make a thank you list to ensure you write a thank you for every present you (or your children) receive.

Sounds corny, but it's true. I created a thank you list in an excel document and record in it every present my family has received as well as a note that a thank you was written and mailed. Doing so not only ensures all thank you's get written, it helps me remember what I've received from whom which always helps me in turn pick out better presents for them and their families. Know what else is great about these lists? They show how thoughtful and kind friends and family really are by thinking enough of us to give us presents, around the holidays or any time of year.
