Leeanthro said...Thanks Rene,
We scaled back this year, too. We opted for a lot of eco-friendly, personalized, and hand made gifts, which may have been a bit more pricey. But I felt good giving them. Our toddler got a train table and had no interest opening his three or four other small gifts.
And we asked relatives for books for our children rather than lots more toys.
We also simplified decorating. Our four-year-old daughter made the decorations for the tree. And I have to say that I really appreciated the simplicity. Not to mention that her construction paper ornaments were toddler-proof!
I think we are going to scale back from now on.
