Woman Fakes Kidnapping Story to Woo Ex Back
Filed under: In The News, Weird But True
It was a heart-stopping story: A mother leaves her five-month-old infant with a nanny, who then disappears with the child. Mom and Dad, an ex-boyfriend who had never met the child, face news cameras on Christmas Day, begging for the return of their son.Heart-stopping, yes. And also completely fabricated.
The 22-year-old mom admitted to authorities that she had made up the entire story -- including the baby -- to win back the affection of the alleged "father," her ex. Here was the first red flag: She described the baby has having a mohawk, one tooth, and a fake tattoo.
The 26-year-old man has to be staggering after his roller coaster of a week: First, he has a son he never knew about. Then, the son has been kidnapped. Suddenly, the son never existed in the first place, and he's looking at his ex in a whole new way -- and not in the reconciling way she was hoping for.
If convicted of the crimes she's been charged with, the woman will have to pay for the statewide search she instigated. I'm left wondering: Did she intend for this crazy scheme to go this far? Or was this whole thing just one bad decision that led to another until she found herself facing television cameras, telling her lie to the world? What do you think?

Brent said...Heh, reminds me of why my (soon-to-be) ex-wife did the other month... called me up stoned/drunk and on pills saying a bunch of stuff, then saying she was pregnant, followed immediately by "oh i gotta go, bye."
Uhhhh no... I mean, I knew immediately with the time line it couldn't be mine, but I still called back and asked her if she was for real. She said no, and was just seeing if I'd come back if she was. Told her I had to go and got a call the next day asking if she called me the night before, lol.... glad I got outta that.

SJRN said...Do we all remember "The Run-A-Way Bride" and all the trouble she caused because she couldn't be a real adult and explain to her then fiance' and her family that she didn't want to get married???
Let's think about this woman/girl whos claiming "kidnapping"....
Its apparent that there is something wrong with this woman and shes not playing with a full deck. She maybe home but the lights are not on! God help her if she really ends up pregnant!
Please lets not waste tax payers money and go to trial. Please make her pay the state and city/county for all the trouble she has caused and keep her away from the real world!
