JLo Spied Without Wedding Ring, Claims Divorce "Not an Option"
Categories: Divorce & Custody, Rumors, Twins, Triplets, Multiples
Jennifer Lopez left her wedding ring at home last Sunday for the Golden Globes. Marc Anthony has also been out and about sans ring, and has been snapped by photographers chatting up other women and waving his bare left hand around. Sure that means they're on the road to Splitsville! Right?Wrong, says JLo. "Every time I'm not wearing my ring, people think I'm getting divorced," she told In Touch Weekly. "That's crazy! It just didn't go with the dress."
JLo and Marc Anthony, who recently welcomed twins Max and Emme into the world, publicly claim their union is as strong as ever. The songstress even went so far as to say, "Divorce is not - and was never - an option."
This sounds strange coming from a woman who was married twice before, but, hey, this is a different marriage and one that resulted in children. To be fair to JLo and Skeletor, there are times when many of us leave our wedding rings at home.
During the final stages of both my pregnancies my fingers were too swollen to even consider wearing a ring. it's possible Lopez could still be carrying around some baby weight in her fingers and could be having a hard time wearing her ring comfortably. (No, really, she could.) Some of us have been known to remove the ring before doing the dishes or washing our hands and then forget it on the counter. Still others would say that a ring doesn't necessarily to symbolize commitment, and taking it off doesn't mean the marriage is over.
What about you? Have you ever left your wedding ring at home? If so, why?

My husband and I did tae kwon do for a number of years. You aren't allowed to wear jewelry in the dojang, so we got into the habit of taking our rings off at home after a couple of "lost ring" scares. We were both pretty lax about putting them back on and freaked out more than our fair share of friends.

NEVER for me---My DH has once, while in out of the country he was not allowed to wear it -- before he left, we were involved in a ceremony which allowed me to remove the gold band and tattoo a band in it's place and then I placed his band on my dog tags until his return.
When he returned, we went back and had the second half of the ceremony and I replaced his gold band, slid mine up and he tattooed my ring finger with the return date as a renewal of sorts.
We then went to the same church we married in remewed our vows again with friends and family present--

I don't personally know JLo and Marc and have no idea what the state of their marriage is. But they are not the only celebrities that don't wear wedding rings, especially on the night of a big event. Seems like a big deal over nothing.

I typically don't wear my ring, and neither does my husband. To me is a a pretty ring, and I love my three stone engagement ring, but I have kids. How nice would that ring look with play dough stuck in it? The same for him, I'd rather him skip the ring and not risk loosing a finger at work if it was to get caught on something. We have been together nearly 12 years, a bit more secure. Even so it's just a ring, I carry the status of my realtionship in my attitude, and actions you can clearly tell a seriously married person from a not married one, unless they are cheating scum bags. So it's not really a big deal if I skip the ring when I pick my kids up from school or when I'm out. It's not the ring that matters but how commited the couple is to each other.

A bit of a overreaction about a ring. It's just a ring, I know plenty of men that don't wear it. It doesn't say anything about the state of your marriage.

I almost never wear my wedding or engagement rings. I have eczema and my ring finger is especially sensitive. At first I felt naked without the rings, but now I actually feel weird wearing them. So, no, I don't think it is strange not to wear your wedding rings. I've been married for 7 years and I don't need the rings to remind me of my vows. My husband always wears his ring, though.

I don't see the big deal in her or him not wearing their rings. I take mine off for various reasons and have forgotton to put them back on. It's no big deal. If I happen to go out without them, and I comment about to my husband he tells me "thats ok I know your married to me".
He refuses to wear his ring while working. It's just to dangerous. I'd rather him go sans ring than him have to go sans finger.

I don't wear mine when I go to the gym, especially when lifting weights. I also take it off when I'm cooking as mine has a lot of intricate details which are great places to harbor bacteria and gunk, etc.
So yeah, a big deal over nothing. Why do we care so much anyway?
Peace!
