Sasha and Malia Get Advice From Bush Twins

So what should Sasha and Malia Obama do when they move into 1600 Pennsylvania Avenue? Jenna and Barbara Bush share their advice, including "Four years goes by so fast, so absorb it all, enjoy it all!"

Congratulations First Family! All eyes were on Barack and Michelle Obama as he made history as #44 and America's first black president. We at ParentDish are starstruck by Malia and Sasha, who have joined a most exclusive club of toddlers, children, teens and young adults: All the President's Children.

The Obama girls were easy, breezy and totally adorable on their father's inauguration day. Malia, 10, wore a double-breasted periwinkle-blue coat with a blue-ribbon tied in a bow at the waist. Seven-year-old Sasha wore a matching outfit in pinks and corals; both coats were from Crewcuts by J. Crew.

Though Jenna and Barbara were 18 when their dad was elected president, they were only seven when Grandpa George H.W. Bush took office. That's Sasha's age. In their letter, they talk about favorite memories, including playing hide-and-seek in the historic house, staging plays in the grand ballroom, studying in the quiet East Sitting Hall and even meeting the Queen of England, all under the watchful eye of three loving White House ushers, Buddy (who loves football), Ramsey (good for a hug) and Smiley (when you need a laugh).
And don't forget to "slide down the banister of the solarium, go to T-ball games, have swimming parties, and play sardines on the White House lawn." (Anyone know how to play sardines?) It sounds like a dream come true.
But life as First Daughters won't be just fun and games, as the Bush twins are well aware. In all seriousness, their advice the boils down to the following:
- Surround yourself with good friends.
- Get a puppy.
- Play. Play a lot.
- Remember who your dad really is.
Sounds good; I'm going to share it with my own kids. Most of us will never know what it's like to even step foot in the White House, but if you had one piece of advice for the Obama girls, what would it be?
| Are you kidding? | |
|---|---|
| Only on this topic. | |
| Sure, they've come a long way. |

This man led us into an unnecessary war, based on false information...an unforgiveable blunder, in my opinion...he lied, thousands died. He personally sanctioned torture, under the guise of keeping us safe. Bull. I certainly would not have booed him had I attended the inauguration, like so many did, but I also do not have any respect for most of his actions as President. The right wingers had their eight years...and now, it is somebody else's turn, thank God.

No man is, and ultimately, the President is a man (to this point). Yes, he made mistakes, but regardless of what you think, everything was not a mistake. It's sad that you can't see the truth, or if you do see, that you are not capable of understanding the truth.

I have respect for the Bush family in how they went about this change of power. I enjoyed watching them (Mr. and Mrs.) interact with the Obamas. I hear they left all the keys on the keyboards too...imagine that. People may not like what he did while he was in office, but through it all, they have acted very graciously.

They grew up to be ladies just like their mother and grandmother before them. These little Bush girls also grew up with some very harsh and ugly comments and accuations by many as well, about their families whom they loved and adored, like any other children would.
I hope that most of these ugly comments will be curbed now, and allow this family who gave all those years to their country, a chance to enjoy something of life as others do. the new president and family have been introduced and accepted by most of this country, we only pray for the best for us all. at the same time, we also pray for the very best of all things for the Bush family. They, too, deserve much.

Meanwhile back in The White House, President Barack Obama WILL definately screw up a few things on his agenda. Within 1 month his administration will be target practice for David Letterman, Jay Leno, Conan O'Brian, and a lot more comics

This man was the President of the United States- a formidable position which very few people can achieve or handle. And he was president at the most difficult time for our nation; starting with the 9/11 attacks which dominated the course of his presidency.
I love that we have our first black president, but I will cheer in the streets when I see Obama can do a good job.
And I thank President Bush for being our President and wish him and his family the best.
As for the very young, very stupid and/ or very unsuccessful who keep putting this man down and at the same time idolize Obama -before he's even done anything!- try to control yourselves. You're acting like fools.

If Michelle Obama did nothing more than raise these girls to behave as they do, she deserves a lot of credit. The White House is not a normal place to grow up, and I hope their experience isn't too isolated and that they enjoy it immensely.

NothingBad said...xnphnx, Everyone should respect the president (interesting you called him the new Messiah because that's what people seem to be treating him as--the second coming). Mr. Bush did some pretty questionable things while in office and I would hate to think that conservatism or conservatives would support going to war with a country based on lies and having him never admit it until 5 days before leaving office. There were NO WMDs. I have close relatives who have been maimed physically and emotionally because they were sent to fight a war which has no merit. If NO WMDs, then we are there based on a lie. Send our troops home. Also, are conservatives so narrow-minded and believe that hundreds of thousands (if not millions) of innocent American citizens should have their privacy invaded by being tapped on their personal and private communication devices? Are conservatives so high and mighty that they believe that the super rich should get welfare from a president who is "one of them" when there is a fight for those maimed and injured Iraq War vets to get the most basic of assistance, or get a fair hearing on receiving benefits that will help ease the messed up lives that they now endure? Think about your blind loyalty to a man who really made a mess of America and give the new guy a chance. I guarantee he has an agenda that is going to make us all sit up and take notice. Problem is most Americans don't see the real picture. Peace.

No group made more fun of President Bush's youthful drunkenness than those who are likely to die of Liver disease due to their own drinking. The Bush twins showed a lot of class in leaving a message for the Obama twins. Classy ladies, very classy.

Scarry??? didn't you mean S-C-A-R-Y? IF Obama were the anti-christ he would surely not be capable of stepping foot in any place of worship which, if you were paying attention, is something he does "religiously"...no pun intended. Do your homework.
