Chinese New Year - Activities for You and Your Child

red envelopeChinese New Year, otherwise known as Spring Festival or Lunar New Year kicks off tonight, a New Year's Eve of sorts that the Chinese call Chuxi, or "Year-Pass Eve." This important traditional Chinese holiday, which officially starts tomorrow, will last 15 days.

Want to teach your child a little more about Chinese New Year? First things first ... bring out the red. The color red is heavily used in both clothing (new, to celebrate the new year) and decorations to ward off evil spirits and bring luck in the coming year.
