Sarah Palin Named Daughter Bristol After ESPN (Sort Of)

Sarah Palin recently sat down with Esquire for a controversial interview, during which explained the meaning behind her daughter Bristol's name.
"Two meanings in Bristol's name," Palin began. "I worked at the Bristol Inn and Todd grew up in Bristol Bay. But also, Bristol, Connecticut, is the home of ESPN. And when I was in high school, my desire was to be a sportscaster. ESPN was just kicking off, just getting off the ground, and I thought that's what I was going to do in life, is be one of the first woman sportscasters."
By giving her kids offbeat names (Will, Piper, Trig, Track and Britsol) it seems Palin wants her kids to have an edge to them. These names are short, masculine and certainly unique. And kids with masculine names are encouraged to pursue traditionally male fields like science, as opposed to girls with more feminine names, according to a recent study published in the Journal of Human Resources. Could be Palin wanted to give Bristol a strong name in case she decides to run for office one day.
In unrelated news, a New York federal judge criticized Palin for carrying her son Trig on stage after a vice-presidential debate last year. "That kid was used as a prop," said U.S. District Judge Naomi Reice Buchwald during a settlement conference involving a little boy with Asperger's syndrome. "And that to me as a parent blew my mind."
That's not exactly fair. Her entire family stepped on stage after the debate; it's not as if she carried Trig on alone. If Trig hadn't come on stage, Palin would have been accused of "hiding" her son. If he does come on stage, she's accused of using him like a "prop."
The woman can't win. Would do you think?

"We knew through early testing he would face special challenges, and we feel privileged that God would entrust us with this gift and allow us unspeakable joy as he entered our lives. The crazy one is YOU! I really doubt that Sarah Palin read that deeply into those names. She most likely liked the way they sounded, period. She is a unique woman, it doesn't surprise me that she wanted her children to have unique names. Better than people that just name their children the "popular" names of the day without putting thought into something as important as the name a child will carry for the rest of their lives. Also, where do you get it that her daughter had a disabled baby? You need to stay off the crack if your going to be posting on here.

Carol said...Looks to me that Sarah is "palling" around with the "media!! The media she and her ilk have such distain for. You just cannot have it both ways. It would seem that if she is sooo intelligent, she would be able to simply refuse comment when the media comes to call. What is so damned newsworthy about the name of her kids. The kids she is suppose to be so protective of from the media and criticism. I realize that the "base" is head over heels with her, just as they were with Haggard, before he burst their "unrealistic bubble". Some people never learn. It is obvious that Sarah is a media hog, craving the spotlight whenever possible. But unwilling to accept the consequences for her own selfish actions. Everyone knows she is a flake and everytime she appears that proves the point that she attempts to deflect. Again, she cannot have it both ways!!!

Teresa---- Sorry you're just to ignorant to be allowed out loose, if God has the opportunity in the near future hopefully he will give you an IQ of something over 3 which is about where it undoubtedly is (actually I think that's too high)
I hope she gets better treatment in the future, but I doubt it as long as she remains an apparent threat to the people who are hoping this country becomes Europe.
