5 Reasons Why I Truly, Madly, Deeply Love the Jonas Brothers
Categories: Teens & tweens, That's Entertainment
I am not saying this as a parent who approves of the trio's clean-cut wholesomeness (although I do). I am saying I like them for all the reasons my Ellie does, and then some. Before you start snickering at this middle-aged teenybopper, let me count the ways in which I love Kevin, Nick and Joe.
Boy Crushes
There are plenty of reasons to love the Jonas Brothers. They act their age and they're the real deal when it comes to writing and playing their own music. And that's just to start.

1. They are pretty. I know the Jonas Brothers take a lot of flack for their perfectly coiffed hair and ridiculously tight pants, but pretty beats grungy in my book any day. Are they too pretty? Maybe. But how can you look at those happy shiny faces and not feel happy and shiny, too?
2. They act their age. Unlike some of today's tween sensations (I am looking at you, Miley), the Jonas Brothers don't pretend to be deep. They embrace their youth and resist the urge to preach to their fans. They don't sing about global warming or how their parents just don't understand them. Their lyrics are simple, refreshingly free of angst and easy to understand. So what if they are all about love? Love is the answer, you know.
3. They aren't pretenders. Holding a guitar in a video does not a musician make (again, looking at you, Miley). Kevin, Nick and Joe actually write music and play instruments. Their sound might not be about to change the face of music as we know it, but it is catchy, fun and uniquely theirs. 4. They are not Miley Cyrus. I don't want to belabor the point, but that girl gets on my nerves. Unlike her, the Jonas Brothers do not take semi-naked photos of themselves or make fun of other young stars. They seem to truly appreciate their success and never make you want to slap them upside the head.
5. The scream factor. Watching these three young men and the effect they have on young girls takes me back to my own innocent tween crushes. Nick Jonas = Donny Osmond. Rather than making me feel old and sad for my lost youth, this shared experience helps me stay connected to Ellie. One of the most valuable tools a parent can have is the ability to remember what it was like to be a child. The Jonas Brothers help me do that.
Love the Jonas boys? Hate? Don't even know who they are?

My son loves them and I will admit that I really like them too. I also sing along with the music and to me they do seem like they have their head on a little better than some of these other people.

Mu daughter is going to see the movie tonight!
They are very nice boys...I had the chance to meet them and observe them as they met some adoring fans. They were gracious and kind to the girls they met and did everything they could to put the girls as ease (considering they were shell-shocked and speechless). It was adorable. I was impressed.
They also put on QUITE a show when they opened for Miley and so I give them 3 thumbs up too.
