First off I think Kate is a great mother she provides a lot for them. Just because she fusses at Jon doesn't make her a bad mother. I fuss at my husband does that make me a bad mother?! I think not!! They have a lot of kids about they same age how could they not have their flaws or get irritated once in awhile? They wouldn't be a normal couple if they didn't right? RIGHT. And she is the type of mother who likes things done her way I don't think that's wrong I do the same thing and I'm most positive I don't have people talking about me behind my back calling me a bad mother because I like things done a certain way and I only have one I understand completely with 8. Well I love the show and I hope they continue it!!!!

Kate is not a great mother. I think she is a NAG and she is turning the older girls into Nags too. I don't see how Jon stays with her. She is so controlling. She has it made. She doesn't have to work. She gets all expense paid vacations. They don't pay for anything...There is no reason for her to act the way she does.

KATE GOSSELIN IS NOT A BAD MOTHER!!!! ok she might fuss at Jon a little more than she should but wouldn't you if you had that many kids about the same age??? GIVE THEM A BREAK!!!! I hate hearing trash talk about her. I love the show and I love them and it people like you that will wanna make them stop.

i hope they dont cancel the show, now how would u b if u had all those kids u b that way 2. now if jon would just do more.but he is like a man wants 2 b waited on he is like a kid its time 2 grow up u got all these kids do more wk and kate wont nag at u , what u want 2 give a mothers day award to the octomon now that is a loser mom at least kate tkes GOOD CARE of her kids feeds them well and they are clean she is a GREAT mom i wish she was my mom. I agree totally. You will not find many women that could do what she has done. I would like to see those people with the negative comments give it a try. HA HA!

Her talents for organization and being a neat freak are a major plus in her situation. Imagine what your house might look like. I praise her for her efforts and I have a lot of respect for what she does.

Although she may be enjoying some time away from home I bet she would not be doing it if not for her financial situation with her large family.

More power to you Kate and your children are going to turn out to be productive citizens of this world and they are adorable too!!

Oh please, a good mother??? lets see now, an over critical, over bearing, compulsive person who basically is psychologically abusive to her own family. The end result? a bunch of kids who grow up never feeling that they are good enough,probably repeating the cycle of control, and what is Kate showing her children as far as respect? She does not respect her husband, doesn't respect her children, and please tell me, where is Aunt Jody? Now there is someone Kate could learn a thing or two from. Is Kate threatened by her ? Oh my yes. Someone who accomplishes raising her kids in a kind, and loving enviroment. Lets just keep watching, and wow ! when those kids are grown, watch out, there will be another blockbuster book about their lives growing up with that Crazy Woman. And Jon, who is treated just like one of her kids is now acting out, Who can blame him? Run, Jon run as fast as you can !

Please get this shrew off the tv screen - she is a model of greed,
narcissism, self importance and indifference to all but herself.
She constantly belittles Jon - criticizing his choice of words, his speech, even his breathing. How many images have we seen of her SITTING in the garage yelling at Jon to "do this", "do that". How many times did she SCREAM at him across a room or an entire store? Now isn't that a great example for her kids. Unfortunately Mady is going to be the exact same whining, negative, greedy image of her mother. She seems to be the worst right now - but who knows what will happen to the rest of the kids. She has been "pimping" her children since their birth in order to live a more luxurious life for herself - free vacations, countless "spa days", a nanny, and she's up to her third house.
It is no wonder that her parents are never seen - if she were my daughter I would be ashamed to be seen with her too. I do feel sorry for Jon and the kids - they deserve better than a whining
greedy shrew for a wife and mother. I wouldn't blame Jon for any affairs he may have - or better yet - leave the witch entirely.

I loved this show when it first began. Watching this nice couple in their daily struggle to raise 8 babies was great vicarious living. However, Kate has turned into a real diva who apparently believes her own publicity. She is becoming a very bad role model for her girls, take a look at Mady to see what I mean. That child needs some discipline, now, & so does Kate. IF & I do mean IF, John is straying, I don't blame him. Who'd want to come home to that shrew?

Kate honestly seems to be a person that needs everything in control. I don't see why the family wants to portrayed on TV anymore. I have seen enough of the family so question is it just making them rich ? I think they need to work on there marriage and family life and not have the public following them every week.

i think kate is a good mother if you actually watch her show you would realize that she loves her children and tries her hardest. SHE HAS 8 CHILDREN FOR GOODNESS SAKE!!!! who here could handle 8 children????? i know birthday parties that dont even have 8 children!!!! cut her some slack!!!

kate is a wonderful mom!!! can u imagine raising 8 kids 6 of which are only 4 years old. jeese she is doing a fabulous job. and just because jon and her butt heads a little doesnt mean they dont love and care about each other. they are not getting a divorce, jon is not cheating on her and their new season starts may 25th at 8:00 pm. i cannot wait. they are devoted christians and kate btw came to speak at a church near me and she was wonderful. The kids are adorable and kate is an amazing mom!!!! :)

So you think that demeaning your husband in front of the kids is just butting heads? She is verbally abusive and hits him constantly. If a woman had to put up with being smacked around and degraded like Jon; then he would be brought up on charges. Bible thumpers have a mixed set of "values" and can justify their rude behavior. Respect for others and especially your spouse speaks volumes about your character. If he hasn't already left her then eventually he will once he rents a backbone and some self respect.

The Duggers should be canceled. They are very selfish people to have so many children. I have read that the older children have to raise the younger children, that is not right.

I agree!! This family breeds like rabbits. I can,t stand the wife, bragging about her dear sweet husband. Its a wonder that he isn,t chained to her uterus. And the ones whom are paying for the sex craved parents are the older kids whom have to help raise their parents off-spring. It makes me sick.

I don't think she is a bad mom AT ALL. She is very meticulous in ensuring that her kids are properly cared for. She is a GREAT and very attentive MOM! Go Kate the Mom. I do agree, that she is a HORRIBLE WIFE. Kate the WIfe? She is controlling, a complete nag and is always trying to strip him of any responsibility or masculinity. I know Jon is only sticking with her because he knows it would look terrible if he left her to be a single mother of EIGHT. I truly feel bad for him, it's like he's stuck!

I don't know if she is a bad mother per se, but she definitely is a horrible example to her children. It is vital that kids SEE that their mother and father love each other and hear them speak kindly to each other. Children learn best by example, good or bad. This world is hard enough to live in without having to constantly hear complaining and putting down of others at home. I think she has unresolved control issues that she needs to get a grip on. She is only teaching her kids what she knows, and that obviously is kinda sad. You would think that seeing herself on TV would be some sort of wake up call to her to get her emotions in check. None of us are perfect, but come on!!! I know that if I saw myself treating my husband like she does on national TV I would definitely be trying to do better in the nagging department.
