Students Get X-Rated Lesson

The incident occurred on May 29 in the auditorium of PS 17 in Williamsburg. After a teacher turned on the DVD player and walked away to retrieve the family-friendly Disney film, a DVD that was already in the machine began playing. Up on the jumbo screen popped Jenna Jameson doing what she does best - being raunchy.
As panicked teachers yelled "Don't look at it!" and frantically tried to stop the movie, the children got an eyeful of a topless Jameson performing an undisclosed sex act. This went on for about 45 second before someone had the presence of mind to pull the plug on the DVD player and end the show.

Word of the incident quickly spread to the students' parents, who are understandably upset. "My son told his friend he saw a naked lady at school," says Rona Easton, whose 6-year-old son was in the audience. "I thought he was just being silly. It's appalling."
It is appalling and also a bit of a mystery. Just how did an X-rated film end up in the school's DVD player? The answer to that question may lie in determining just where the player was located prior to the film festival. Initial reports had it locked in Principal Robert Marchi's office, but parents were later told that it may have been moved to an unlocked office where it was accessible to anyone and everyone.
Of course, there are those who think the whole thing is funny and that the parents are making a big deal over nothing. But Principal Marchi isn't laughing and vows to get to the bottom of the matter. "A very explicit pornographic video came on the screen," he wrote in a note to parents. "This was extremely upsetting to the students and staff members in attendance . . . I am deeply sorry that this episode took place at PS 17. I know that we will make every effort to find out who was responsible for this despicable act."

Kaitlyn said...WTF is wrong with people? first off you shouldnt be watching porn while working in a school.. I honestly dont think its a problem that 5th graders had seen this because children these days are hitting puberty younger and younger but to let young children watch that is horrible.

Chuck said..."Most sexual crimes are committed by straights. Always have been... "
Well, duh!!! Straights make up 96% of the population, so go figure that 96% would do the majority of any crime. Another thing you forgot to mention is that the per capita rate of sex crimes among straights is far lower than among gays.

This is not something that matters half as much as teens getting shot and killed everyday in every city in America. Get over this and focus on what is really important. Follow the Eurpeans who don't mind showing sex acts on T.V. but ban all forms of gratuitous vilolence. They have co-ed bath houses where children can go with their parents and see perfect strangers naked, this is natural and the advent of sexual abuse of the children in Europe is almost non existent compared with the population of the USA, and that goes for murders by weapons as well, wake up Amerika!!

Matt said...I understand the outrage of a kindergarten kid being shown a porno. However, there is no outrage that kids that are being sent to school for an education are gathered around, grades K to 5th, to watch a Jonas Brothers movie during school hours. That is whats wrong with public schools today. Too busy trying to entertain and baby sit these kids instead of trying to educate them. Back in the dark ages when I was in grade school, we got a movie like this once a year for a Christmas present. But even then, it was sort of educational. We got movies like Johnny Tremain, a Disney movie about the Revolutionary War. Or we got a Disney wildlife adventure movie about animals. My daughter has been home schooled for the past 2 years and will be till she finishing high school and this is one of the reasons. When she was in 4th and 5th grade, from mid May to Mid June, this was a common practice every day. Kids were to bring DVD movies from home and they would sit around and watch them all day long. No wonder our kids cant read and write anymore.

This young no a bit older but still I guarantee they see worse at home or on tv while flipping through the channels. So they saw some pussy big deal they are gonna see it sooner or later anyway.

If we had seen this kind of seen inside of a comedy movie, we would be rolling over laughing. Of course there would be a lot of explaining to do for those parents. I know that would not be easy. I am not certain how I would feel if my son was exposed to porn. We just can't forget that their reactions are mostly created by watching us. This would likely be their only exposure to porn as a child. I am betting if the parents let it go, so will the child. If I were the administration I would be more concerned about who would be watching porn at an elementary school? Couldn't they do that in the privacy of their own home?

Don't look at it!" would be laughable were it not so tragic. I don't mean to suggest that we should be exposing children to hard-core, but I'm wondering how many of these bloggers find the teachers' hysterical response any more befitting the grade-school classroom. For me, the teachers' reactions are likely to produce more damage than a few seconds of viewing porn. Now, the children know for sure that it wasn't just naked adults dancing while laying down....and they'll learn that whatever it was ...is might naughty. I hope the instructors are given some serious retraining.

For claiming to be a Christian he sure quick to judge people who he doesn't agree with.

dmc2170 said...This is a typical example of lazy American parenting. The outrage doesn't stem from the fact that these kids saw a sex act on TV, (this was going to happen eventually) the problem is that these parents are now forced to explain what happened to their kids. How ironic that this pathetic example of our education system was OK with showing these children a Jonas Brothers movie and wound up showing them a Jenna Jameson movie. I can't decide which is worse.
I accept that, more than likely, I will have to explain things to my son before either of us are ready for it. However, I will gladly do it because that is what I signed up for as a parent.

alphama333 said...Alright parents! So this is what we send our little ones off to school to learn now is it? Sure like to know how that porn DVD ended up in the player at the kid's school. Seems to me we have all sorts of naughty teachers out there and our kids are being taught by 'em. If a teacher wants to be naughty, then they need to do so at home. If I were those parents of those kids, I'd be looking for answers and action taken by the head of the school. Oh...that's right...someone probably was getting some head after school. That's how the damn DVD ended up at the school in the player, right?!
