Pregnant By Swimming?

The pool can be a dangerous place: Kids can get sunburned or slip on the wet deck. But can the pool get you pregnant?

Magdalena Kwiatkowska of Poland thinks you can. She is suing an Egyptian hotel because she claims her 13-year-old daughter became impregnated after swimming in its pool during their recent holiday. Ms.Kwiatkowska says that there must have been errant sperm floating around just waiting to implant themselves in an unsuspecting female taking a dip. She swears that her daughter did not meet any boys during their vacation, so the mysterious sperm in the pool had to be the culprit.

Surely this lawsuit will be thrown out of court on inconceivable (pun intended) grounds. First off, wouldn't the chlorine kill any random sperm? But even further, did Ms. Kwiatkowska follow every moment of her vacationing daughter to prove, beyond a shadow of a doubt, that she spent absolutely no time with anyone of the opposite sex during their Egyptian holiday?

The only reassuring thing about this story, perhaps, is that frivolous lawsuits are not exclusively an American thing.

Just wanted to say this is the saddest story I have ever read. We wonder why today's kids are sooooo messed up. Well having parents like this are one big reason!!!!

How ignorant! Blaming OUR generation, as if yours didnt do the same. HOWEVER, pool pregnancy is possible, highly infact, even with chlorine. But TRUST ME, worst has happend in a pool. Read "Guts" by Chuck Palahnuik (its a short story that includes a girl getting pregnant by her bro's sperm in a pool. "Guts" is also included in the novel, "Haunted" by Chuck Palahnuik, which is A GREAT READ FOR IGNORANT ADULTS THAT DON'T THINK ACCIDENTS HAPPEN)... I'm 17 BTW and I am highly educated

WTF?! How can you get pregnant by swimming in the pool. Well, it CAN be POSSIBLE; but wouldn't the chlorine kill the sperm? Maybe the mother is trying to get money by suing, either way this sounds interesting...

It can definitely happen .. i am a "Pool Sperm Baby" myself.... True story.. it was 1979 in San Francisco at a well know Hotel, some dudes the night before jerked off in the pool. Then along came my mom and that stuff went rite up in her.. It happens all the time! I hear like 8% of all children are PSB's (pool sperm baby's.. for the laymen). So i hope this woman wins this lawsuit. FOR ALL THE POOL SPERM BABYS!!!!!

OMG! how dumb can a mother be to think that????? maybe she didnt have "THE TALK" with her mom so she never knew how to have it with her own daughter. im going swimming tomorrow so i better watch out for those sperms swimming around. this woman just wants money out of the hotel. so dumb! so all you women out there watch out the next time u go swimming! maybe we should take protection with us at all times when we go swimming. LMAO!!!!!!!! WHAT A JOKE! oh yeah & that just may be the new way to get pregnant! wouldnt that be cool? NOT!!!!!!

If this girl is pregnant and her mother believes that she got pregnant after swimming in a pool, then it does not surprise me at all that the girl is pregnant! Stupid is as stupid does!

this can actually happen. sperms can live for seven days in almost any liquid substance (even clorified pool water). obviously the people that are doughting this DIDNT have the talk. if you did you would know that sperms can be made and wonder into females. im not saying that was how i was born but it is true. just saying. the people who didnt know this obviously have'nt had a recent edjucation.

Just when you thought it safe to go back into the water!...... Seriously, there could be two creative motives to this mothers crazy claim. She could be trying to save face for her family and make some money for the new addition at the same time. Her little girl is young enough to have a good window of fertility, she could have conceived just a day or two before or after her egyptian vacation and just be protecting a young male friend from being shot by daddies shot gun. A lot of 13 year olds are different from 13 year olds in the good ol days, they are capable of being more risque, menipulative and street smart then we think. Trust me, I am a mother of a junior high kid and I see how these kids can be. In this case looks like this teen angel has horns holding up her halo and knows how naive mommy and daddy are. If I were that girls mama I'd be too embarassed to admit to the world how whipped I am by my wild lil girl.
