Movies
"Bruno" is the latest mockumentary from comedian Sacha Baron Cohen and this time, he's a flamboyant homosexual. Whether his antics are silly or offensive depends upon your point of view. But one thing is for sure: His edgy and sexually explicit shenanigans are intended to shock and push the envelope as far as it will go. Lots of coarse language, sex and even a little violence thrown in for good measure. Rated R, Not OK for Kids
On DVD
Featuring super-scary monsters, creatures and demons, "The Unborn" is a fright-fest that seems designed specifically to induce nightmares in children. Rather than blood and gore, the film relies on disturbing imagery and freaky looking bad guys to scare the audience and is wholly inappropriate for little ones. Rated PG 13, Iffy for Kids 15+TV
Preoccupied with sex and popularity, "10 Things I Hate About You" is aimed squarely at today's teens. Two very different sisters deal with trying to fit in at their new school while their father tries valiantly to protect them from the big, bad world of boys. Rated TV-14, Iffy for Kids 13+
Books
The cover art may bring to mind "High School Musical", but the similarities between the novel "Castration Celebration" and the popular Disney movies end there. The book, by Jake Wizner, begins with a cheating dad and goes downhill from there with crass language, crude sex talk and general bad behavior. It may have been inspired by Shakespeare's "Much Ado about Nothing", but this book will never be a classic. Iffy for Kids 15+Music
On "Craigslist", funny guy Weird Al Yankovic takes on the popular Internet site with a Doors-inspired spoof. As with his other work, Yankovic's lyrics sometimes get a little off-color, but it's probably nothing the average kid hasn't heard before. It's adolescent humor at its finest and proves that with the proper hair and clothing, just about anyone can look like Jim Morrison. OK for Kids 9+
Games
For the Nintendo Wii, "Let's Tap" allows the whole family to join in the fun. Unlike some other family games, the grownups don't have an automatic advantage here because all players have to be able to do is tap their fingers. Another reason to play: The winning avatars are good sports and don't do that annoying happy dance that makes the non-winners feel bad. Rated E, OK for Kids 7+Web
A companion to the PBS series of the same name, "BizKids" is a great way to introduce children to business and money management. Featuring kid-hosted videos, the site teaches economic concepts in a funny and entertaining way, empowering kids to take charge of their financial futures. OK for Kids 11+

I thought other readers would enjoy an activity I got at the botanical gardens. Have you or your children "Ever Seen a Plant Move When You Tickle It?" If you wanted to share your love for nature with your children, here is an activity I have done with mine. This may change the way you and the kids react to plants for ever. Imagine giving your children some seeds. Having them watch them sprout and grow. Then shortly after the second leaves appear they tickle the plant and it moves its branches down and closes its leaves! Give them more than a gift; give them a learning experience they will never forget. I found information and a TickleMe Plant Greenhouse at http://www.ticklemeplant.com Use coupon code PLANT to save $2.00
