Grandparent Rights in the Spotlight
Filed under: Divorce & Custody, Relatives, Celeb Parents, In The News
Michael Jackson's untimely death that led to his 79-year-old mother, Katherine Jackson, being granted full custody of his three children has brought the grandparent rights controversy to a national level.
Questions surrounding the decision, which was stipulated in Jackson's will, focused on the grandmother's age -- which some felt hindered her ability to care for children -- and the rights of a biological parent to reclaim children who were left in someone else's care. Deborah Rowe is the birth mother to Prince Michael I, 12, and Paris,11. The identity of Prince Michael "Blanket" II, the deceased singer's 7-year-old, is unknown.
