Kate Plus 8: TLC Bids Jon Adieu

Jon's "recent antics," of course, would consist mostly of his very public dating life, which apparently started before he and estranged wife Kate officially separated in June. The couple have been criticized for the way they have handled their breakup, but in recent days Kate -- who had been vilified as the bad guy in the Gosselin house -- has been focusing on her career, appearing as a guest host on The View, and reportedly filming a pilot with Paula Deen. Jon, on the other hand, has been planning his new career as a clothing designer for Ed Hardy, and going to lots of bars with much younger women.
But let's get back to what that inside source said: There's "...no way the show could continue to portray him as a doting dad." We're curious about why that is -- is it because he's not a doting dad? Because viewers don't want to see him as a doting dad? Or because TLC thinks the show will do better if the set up is single working mom Kate and her kids? Whatever the case may be, as of November 2, Kate and the eight will be on their own, at least on TLC.
What do you think -- will you miss Jon Gosselin, or is this just the beginning of the end for the Jon & Kate Plus 8 franchise? Will you keep watching once Jon is gone, or have you already changed the channel?

I am so sick of the whole thing! The media needs to leave them all alone, people like Jon feed off attention (attention whores is what I like to call them), and that's all everyone is doing....paying attention to him!

i hear that if it wasnt for the media these two could have done this hole break up behind close doors. These 8 kids are the only ones getting hurt with this cuz it out in the open. Anyone can say what they want i love this show and will alway watch it. I think Kate was hard on him but u have to remember she is the one that has taking care of the kids full time so it should be her way. THe media did this to them cuz they havent done it to the others like the little people or the duggers. The media did this now they need to let it go. Its old

TLC should be ashamed of themselves. Cut off all the contracts and allow these poor children to grow up out of the limelight once and for all. Give us a yearly update show or something, but let these children have peace in their lives without the constant intrusion of cameras.

Let Kate and her kids goes on with the show she needs to take care of her family financially, because you same nay-Sayers and haters are going to start complaining that she is living off your tax dollars. Thank God she has a roof over her children head, she is not going to allow Jon to deplete their children nest egg.

For those of you saying to leave the kids alone - do you know that this celebrity that they need to be protected from allows them to live the way they do? Neither parent has needed to work for years and the kids live in a beautiful and safe home. Many families would kill to be in that position.
Yes, they have to live with the cameras (which they have become accustomed to) and yes, they have their family in the news, but there is always a trade off. always.

I am so sick off Jon. I had to post on truuconfenfessions.com recently (I got A LOT of "me too's) to vent about him, in fact I am pretty much sick of the whole story.

So Jon didn't like being in the spotlight.Too much pressure on him....the transplants....the teeth whitening...the snowboarding/ski trips.....the bogus re-marriage in beautiful Hawaii. All paid for. Wish I had that kind of stress. Instead of manning up...seeking marriage counseling, he runs off to NY, rents a $3500 a month apt, becomes a man-about-town. Yes, as we all saw, Kate could be a bitch! But, he should have tried to work things out. You "despise" Kate?The mother of your 8 kids? Nice, Jon. Something your kids will be proud to hear about later. smh At least she's a worker.....getting out there and supporting your kids. Now, Jon has a 'Foundation'? Sure, just another way for him to escape being a real man. I'm glad the show will go on without him, it's about those beautiful kids, NOT about YOU, Jon. I'd like to see Jon get a JOB..or two or three....and get to the business of supporting all those kids. You're not celebrity material, Jon. You are just a miserable excuse of a man ( husband), trying to bite the hand that has been feeding you. Quit your whining and man up! Bravo to you, TLC! I'm sure we can enjoy the show without him. WOW do I feel better! lol

I think this is a good thing. At least the kids will get a break from filming when he is under their care, unless a new t.v. show is developed with just him and the kids.

OH Amy...You made my day with your comment! TOO FUNNY!! ALSO Adele..Good Points! However, I did hear Jon state on GMA that HE had gone to several marriage counseling sessions ALONE. We only have his word for that but, for some reason I believe him...HOWEVER....Wayback...before they EVER split up..I wrote a post saying "Jon..PLEASE STAND UP AND BE A MAN...KATE DOES NOT RESPECT YOU..AND THAT'S PROBABLY WHY SHE RUNS ALL OVER YOU!!!" Little did we all know what the homely litte twit would consider MANNING UP!!! He gets what he deserves!!

Here's the thing that gets me, no matter how you feel about the media attention and show itself: Jon is now STOPPING the divorce proceedings and saying he made a mistake. (Not, for the record, leaving his family, but about socializing with other women so SOON.) Is it a coincidence that this happened when he was cut out of the show and its financial benefits?? That just makes me sad.

I think Kate enjoys all the attention she gets too much to leave the show. I mean, come on, all the times she goes to the spa, gets her hair done, tummy tuck, tooth whitening, free trips....who wouldnt get caught in it. I think she needs to take a step back and see what the show has done to the family life. There isnt one anymore. She is hounded by cameras everywhere she goes and just laughs it off. Not to mention all the attention she gets on other tv shows and magazines.
If you see the first show to now...omg...the difference in her alone is crazy.

Thanks, TLC, for getting rid of Jon! No wonder Kate was so stressed! Jon's behavior is childish, selfish and petty! He has demostrated that he is a loser, a bum and a nightmare! Get the DIVORCE Kate and move forward away from him! Keep your courage and grace!

The last program that was aired last Monday for those who had watched it, did you observed how calm Kate was with the children. The kids at the farmers market and cooking together and eating. the kids were their regular self. I personally enjoyed their trip to the tea house in Carolina with the little girls I thought that was so precious every mommy needs to have tea parties or take their little girls out to tea houses to have tea, it's a genteel part of life shows a little class.
Call me lifeless but I enjoy watching the kids, now that they are are getting older they are more controlled, Kate is doing her best in showing love and decent discipline at the same time. she had fun with the little boys in the Naval ship that was so cute with them. The woman needs to support her children and at the same time open their minds to culture and learn to respect themselves and other people. they are not on some stage parading themselves like little hookers, they have good meals are in bed at the correct time so what is wrong with that. Unlike the other outlandish show toddlers and Tiaras now! those kids are like little monsters like their big monsters of mamas.

Kate is not supporting her children. Her children are supporting her.
How can Kate be supporting her children, when they get everything free: Free clothing, free vacations, etc.?
Jon made it known on the show that he didn't want to continue with the show, but Kate disagreed with him on TV and made it known that she wanted the show to continue.
The question is why would Kate want the show to continue? Is she that desperate in need of money? How old does her kids have to be, before Kate decides to quit the show?
She claims that her children wants to continue with the show. Really? Does her children really understand what's going on? Better yet, do they know how much money Kate is getting per child?

I always enjoyed the show, it's ups and downs.of course we don't know what was said behind closed doors .I for one am glad Jon is being shut out he has not been seen in the public eye as the man(dad) we thought he was as shown on the show ,,as for Kate that's Kate she is acting the same outside the show as on for what I've seen on the show. Weather people like her or not that's her..Now I hope Jon has got him self set with a good job on the outside (of T.V) child support for 8 children will not be cheap.... I say this let Jon have his way..on his 2weeks with the children no TLC no filming (no pay check) and when Kate is there so is TLC and let the show go on. We the public will know if this is right or wrong for the kids and at least we will know they will have money coming in to keep up with the bills.I do have One thing to say to Kate I have seen you on T.V when it's your time with the kids.can you arrange your time to be with them on your 2weeks and work when it's Jon's, at least till thing's settle down a bit. SICK SICK SICK,,,,WHY DONT THEY BOTH GET OFF THEIR LAZY ASS BUTTS AND GET A REAL JOB!!!! SHE IS ONLY PRETTY NOW CUZ OF THE CAMERAS ROLLING. JON IS NO BETTER. TWO LAZY FOOLS THAT DEMAND ALL THE ATTENTION THEY CAN GET. THEY BOTH NEED TO GET A RESPECTABLE LIFE AND MAKE PAYCHECKS LIKE WE ALL HAVE TO DO. WAKE UP TLC!!!
