Former porn star Jenna Jameson has turned her talents to blogging, mommy blogging.
If ever there was a way to get men to start reading so-called mommy blogs, this is it.
Jameson is one of the most successful adult-film stars of all time. She has been credited with helping to make pornography more mainstream, according to Wikipedia.
She also appears to have a sense of humor, having responded to a Bill O'Reilly attack with the following e-mail:
"I hope Bill understands the difference between a porn star and a hooker. I assume he has done some research on the subject because he requested some of my videos after we finished taping my appearance. I imagine he wanted them for professional reasons."
She is also the mother of twin boys, Jesse Jameson Ortiz and Journey Jette Ortiz.
Whether or not Jameson will be able to pull off a great blog is unclear. As of this writing, a bunch of entries have been posted. One, titled "Say NO! to baby battle scars!," extols the virtues of Keihl's Creme de Corps in the fight against stretch marks. Although at first the post seemed to be a bit of a commercial for the lotion, Jameson also tells readers that, "In reality, having stretch marks isn't that big of a deal, considering all we have to do to earn them. So do your best to prevent them, bt [sic] don't beat yourself up if you get them... after all, you should be proud." In the same post, she tells us the 10 thoughts that entered her mind when she found out she was pregnant, two of which were "I'm scared." So give her points for honesty.
Judging by the comments, the site has already attracted male readers. "Gary" writes: "my wife totally would love this product. thank you soooo much. i love the blog idea too...."
We're sure that your wife will be interested to know where you found this little skin care tip, Gary.
While we don't want to risk the wrath of the father of Jameson's babies, mixed martial-arts champ Tito Ortiz, we do think that perhaps Jameson could hire a Web designer to help fix some of the mistakes on the site, such as replacing the default Wordpress settings ("Your blog description here"), and fixing the dead links on the HouseOfJameson.com home page.
All of that may be overlooked, however. Jameson is a big enough star that people are going to at least give her blogging efforts a shot no matter what. She may also be tapping into an anti-celebrity mom trend. A commenter on Jezebel wrote, "I'd rather read her take on mothering than Gwyneth Paltrow's any day."

Karen said...I kinda like the blog! The pictures are borderline NSFW, but the content is cute and girly. It's not exactly a mommy blog; more like a personal blog of someone who's a proud mommy. But yes, the design could use some work. At least so far, she doesn't come across as a complete moron, which is a step up from some celebrity and mommy blogs.

makeupgrrl13 said...Well, yes and no. Think of it like this: There are people who flip burgers and there are chefs. Both provide food, but at different levels and different ways. Not so sure I think she's the best for giving advice on parenting, but to tell her own experiences, why not. Everyone else can, so why not her too? I'm in the biz - been for years. I see all kinds.

clara howard said...I have issue with the comments on here. Except for the first blog the rest are disgusting in content. In response to the first blog it seems she is pregnant so this blog would start out being personal. As for the reporter on this piece started out a cute story on unlikely mommy blogs that turned into a satarical bent and bone picking session on her site. Probably prompted the comments.

Tony said...Consider the facts before you blast her. She was the highest paid porn star in history. Sold her own production company for well over $10 million. Had a book on the New York Times best seller list for several months. While in the business she worked exclusively with only a few women and less men. Any women that has had children can give parenting advice, no matter what ocupation they have had.

a mom said...it's a BLOG, not an advice column. get over yourselves, all you self-righteous hypocrites. i can guarantee not any one of you has any idea what her current beliefs are, or the state of her relationship with the divine. and i'm pretty sure not any one of you is any more loved by the divine than she is. any parent has every right to express their personal thoughts and opinions on their parenthood walk, just as any spiritual person has the right to express their personal thoughts and opinions on their path, twisted and indirect as it may be.

pams said...I think that most of the comments are just extremely judgemental. Remember only God can judge and she is a human being, a creation on God just like the rest of us. People are acting like she is the devil. Yes she has done sinful things but so has everyone in their lives. Give her a break, who is to say where she is in her life and what is going on with her and her beliefs. Also if you don't like what she has to say then don't read it. But calling her a whore and acting like she's an idiot, NONE of you know her personally and even if you did it's not your role to pass judgement on her ands label her as such.

I'm still trying to finish my book " What will you tell your daughter ? " but as situations occur the chapters keep being addded, lol As soon as I stop over compensating and retire my June Cleaver format , maybe, just maybe we can exhale. I love being a mom and no matter what background, race or religious beliefs all moms have 1 thing in common, and that's the love and responsibility of nurturing our children. Mother nature doesn't have a face, it's who we are and what we do, so let's share !

melodie said...Our world is what needs to change and show MIss Jameson that she is nothing special. She has been blessed with the gift of children even though her lifestyle prooves undeserving .
Just know that she has a lot to explain to her children and that time will come sooner than she realizes. Her children will end up paying for her mistakes.
I'd like to see her give her some of her financial blessings children in need if she loves kids so much.

susan said...I agree with KC, this woman is a joke. Just because one makes lots of money, does not make one have common sense. About 7 yrs. she was on VH1 special highlighting the sex industry. Every other word was "I make lots of money). She has no self respect. She encourages the wrong kind of sex, no emotional connection, just it feels good, so I should do it. What message was she and VH1 promoting? If you are poor and pretty the only way out of a trailer park is to sell your body. This woman lacks good character.
