Duggar Grandbaby Born

The newest baby -- who joins the already enormous clan -- weighed in at 8 pounds and measured 19 1/2 inches. Mommy Anna and Daddy Josh, the oldest of Michelle and Jim Bob's 18 children, tossed aside Grandma and Grandpa's self-imposed tradition of using first-letter J names for all the kids.
The supersize family continues its growth spurts, as Grandma Michelle is pregnant with baby #19, who is due in March.
Last month, when she was still a grandma-to-be, Michelle spoke with ParentDish on what it's like to be pregnant at the same time as her daughter-in-law.
Here's what she had to say:
ParentDish: How does it feel to know that your child will be younger than your grandchild?
Michelle Duggar: I am just amazed. Being 42, I was wondering if could still have another. That season of change is happening a bit, so I figured I would just enjoy hugging and loving on my grandbabies.
PD: Now that you're both pregnant at the same time, is the relationship with your daughter-in-law any different?
MD: Anna asked me some pregnancy questions early on and that was just a joy. Now she's asking me, "How are you feeling?" She was really sick every other day, so she can sympathize with me.
PD: How will this play out in the Duggar family?
MD: My mother and my sister got to experience the same phenomena. My mother was pregnant with me when my sister was pregnant with my nephew. I have a nephew and niece who are older than me, so I was an aunt before I was born! When I was younger I would point my finger and say to them, "Remember, I'm your aunt."
Little Mackynzie arrived about ten days before her actual due date of October 18, but judging by the video, everything looks perfect. Wonder if TLC will change the name from 18 And Counting to something like, We've Stopped Counting?

Funny, your aunt or uncle is usually someone that you look up to as a person of authority because they are older. When Michell has her baby in March it will be the aunt or uncle to the one that was just born, Mackynzie, who is actually older. I've never had a niece or nephew older than me. I'm glad that they didn't carry on with the "J" names, but that doesn't mean they won't carry on with "M" names. It is highly unlikely, though, since neither of the parent's names start with "M". I can't say much about the Duggars. Their children live a hard life, and the parents obviously have sex at least once a year, (which may be more than most).

Why would anyone have anything bad to say about the Duggers? They are self supporting people with a paid for home. Their kids have manners and morals. They don't use welfare or any other government programs. I hope they keep breeding like rabbits. I would rather have the US populated by them to help balance the Mexicans that are TAKING OVER THE UNITED STATES OF AMERICA!!

I don't think the Duggar kids have a hard life...have a lot of help with all the siblings. And I'm glad the new granddaughter does not have a "J" name!

They went with an "M" name in honor of Josh's mom Michelle. They plan to name all of their kids names that start with M....

What does age have to do with authority? A few of the doctors I work with & a lot of police officers are younger than I am, but I highly respect them. I also respect the Duggar's, how many children they have is their choice as long as I am not supporting them and judging by the grammar & spelling of a lot of the negative responses, they need to take a seat in the Duggar's home schooling class.

I think they do demonstrate a sense of values, togetherness. respect for the family and certainly how a family lives with one another. How maney children they deciede to have is their choice and they have provided a great role model to the generations of the audience that might watch their show. What is wrong with people doing the right things in life and loving each other and working together and children learning not to be selfish, but to help out and face responsibility and grow up to be productive citzen. You cant judge them and compare them to breeding like rabbits. they are human beings, not animals. They are demonstrating a family as not being disfunctional and being functional and sucessful.

You gotta admit: If you like them or not they always make beautiful children.

First of all the GRANDMOTHERS name is Michelle and they decided to use a name starting with an "M" in accordance of the grandmother. All of their kids names will start with an "M". And why do you think that the kids have a hard life. They all seem very happy to me. Honestly they are very well behaved, respectable and curtious children. How many kids can you say that about now days? More more and more teenagers are getting into drinking, smoking, doing drugs, having unprotected sex, and prostitution. Look at how many kids are breaking the law and already have a police record at 12 or 13 years old. I am very proud of this family. All of the kids are well rounded and love being a big family. They have no complaints. Hell they have 18+ kids and do it all on their own. Now days someone has 1 or 2 kids and decide they need help raising them and go get on welfare. At least the Duggers isnt causing any problems like some people. They dont judge you so quit judgeing them YOU JERKS!!!!! LEAVE THEM ALONE THEY HAVE DONE NOTHING TO YOU!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! GET A LIFE AND QUIT WORRYING ABOUT EVERYONE ELSE
Bill 10-09-2009 @ 2:21PM
These jerks need to get a life. The world would be a btter place if jerks like th Duggars would quit breeding.

Bill, you're an idiot. who cares? they support themselves without their television show. as long as they support their family, breed on!!
Korri 10-09-2009 @ 2:31PM
Why are they jerks ? they are not on welfare they are educated and a very nice manered family everyone could learn a great deal from the way they live their lives and I'm sure Josh and Anna will raise a healthy family too.
Was your parents crack addicts on welfare living in the projects maybe they shouldn't have breed at all now we're plus one dick head
scookie80 10-09-2009 @ 2:55PM
I think they're morons, esp. that Michelle lady. She is such a sheep for her husband. Not to mention dull. Bright as 5 watt light bulb. Don't they get that the world barely has enough resources to sustain everyone as it is. Now they feel the need to breed like rabbits.
The broad needs to announce she's hit menopause. That's the only announcement I want to hear. They make me sick.
I hope the one daughter-in-law doesn't have 20 kids too. Probably will. To keep the tradition going. MIndless sheep.
omar 10-09-2009 @ 3:28PM
I agree with you. Thats why I don't watch thier show.
Ashley 10-09-2009 @ 2:57PM
WTF? They are not the octomom! They support themselves and they didn't sale their souls to the "reality devil" like John and Kate.
jello 10-09-2009 @ 3:02PM
Korri--you don't plus one anyone when you resort to using kindergarten style expressions and crassness.
Why, oh why, do we need to keep hearing about this family? So what if they have a huge family? They are no better than anyone else. Enough of them already. Enough of Jon and Kate, too.
thall 10-09-2009 @ 3:08PM
hey bill if you not paying for those children you have nothing to say , bye the way they don't get welfare like octu mom does so back off jerk
vanessa 10-14-2009 @ 12:33PM
Why so bitter? They seem to be a loving family. Can't you just let them live peacefully. Ugly comments from someone that has probably never watched the show. If you were an exciting show topic maybe you would have your own reality show. Live and let live.
Mary 10-09-2009 @ 3:20PM
They are not bothering anybody. They pay thier own bills and ask of nothing from you. Why are you so rude !
Congratulations Josh and Anna !
Laura Kelly 10-09-2009 @ 3:31PM
Well, they are completely debt free and never abuse their children. No piercings and body parts sticking out that shouldn't. They believe in helping others. I can watch hours of programs and never hear a "dirty" or four letter word. Let's see. I think that puts them way above the general population. With all the channels on TV, no one is forcing you to watch them. Some of us like seeing how a family like them deal with life. They do better with 18 than most do with 2.
abdel 10-09-2009 @ 3:35PM
These people make me sick. What makes them think they have a right to load the planet with more of their genes. The earth is already staggering under the load of all of us. In case they haven't noticed many people starve on this planet and do without while greedy pigs like these eat up all the resources.
