Noah Cyrus, 9, dressed for Halloween. Juan Rico, Fame Pictures
Dlisted, who published the photo, calls for a slap on papa Billy Ray Cyrus' wrists.
Little Cyrus vamped it up for Jamie Lee Curtis' Halloween party -- Curtis was dressed as Mother Nature, according to Dlisted -- but sadly, this grade-schooler turned heads for all the wrong reasons.
What do you think?

Elizabeth said...Karen and Linda, I agree that yes, parents have to protect their children, but as a parent, it's not your job to avoid tempting pedophiles, it's your job to keep them away from your kids. If some sick person is turned on by an innocent photo like this, that's there problem. Yes, parents must protect their children, but don't take their childhood away from them. I have to wonder, would the reaction be the same if it were the older sister dressing like this, since after all she has hips and breasts, whereas this girl is just a child with a child's body playing dress up. I say again, nothing sexual unless you have a problem. And to be honest, if you can't let your kids be kids, then the evil pedophiles have already won.

Karen said...Elizabeth,
It is our job as parents to protect our children, and that includes NOT posing our nine year-old on the internet in streetwalker attire for all the pedophiles out there. You can whine all you want about what's wrong with the REST of the world, but that is the very reason NOT to do that with a nine year-old. There are enough perverts out there without adding a nice pinup on the internet for all of them to use for their own pleasure! What is wrong with you?Talk about "exposing" your own child to the nasty world! I wouldn't in a million years dress my nine year-old daughter like that. You must have blinders on if you think that's okay.

Elizabeth said...Karen, I think it's Halloween, and on Halloween kids get to dress up like they wouldn't normally do. Am I saying it's okay for her to dress like this on a normal basis? Of course not. It's all about the environment. If a child wants to dress like this where you know the people hosting the party and the people who are going to be in attendance, because it's a kids party, then what's the harm? On the other hand, if your kid is going out into an unknown environment, such as trick-or-treating, then yeah, it might not be okay. But it's just a costume, and if people are worried that a pedophile will see their kids picture on the internet, then here's a simple solution--don't post it! Or better yet, don't even take a picture.

CLM said...I think the headline has it wrong. It wasn't Noah Cyrus who got Halloween all wrong, but her parents. Let's put the blame where it belongs. A tween is going to want to dress like this, it is up to the parents to say "no".

Ron said...Disney has been a huge contributor to creating a generation or two of little girl sluts through their Hanna Montana product. As parents, we are at fault as well for purchasing such inappropriate attire for our daughters. I am surprised and disappointed that Disney continues to market such unwholesome images under their name.

BB said...UMM NO WAY a 9 year old should be wearing this. Those that defend it, probably already bought their own child a trashy outfit.
It makes guys look at her as if she is suggesting something that she is not and should not be. AND NO ONE should be looking at a 9 year old in a suggesting way. Come on people, we have enough perves running around as it, are we trying to create more pedophiles???? But with Miley as a big sister and what her parents have allowed her to get away with, NO SHOCKER!!

BB said...My daughter was raped when she was 14 years old. Her nick name at school was "Lil' Nun" b/c she wanted to save her first kiss for someone special. Before he raped her, in one of his emails it said "I'm gonna show her a Lil' Nun"......he raped her, threatened to kill her and her family.....he got away with it....so when I see something like this, it sickens me, to know that this child is so innocent while some perve is thinking sick thoughts......shame on her parents for being so ignorant for allowing their child to dress like a "sex object".

youngadult24 said...BB I am very sorry about your daughter. Monsters like that should be torched alive! Unfortunately there is no "this is wrong/right" about this get up but opinions and suggestions. God, I was born in the 80's grew up in the 90's and at 16 in the 2000's it was still fun to be a kid, a teenager .Now, there are suggestions, perversions, ideas, morals running amock and many fall off the wagon. Noah, is dressed up for a fun halloween festivity, but in this time and age. Fun is gone, fear is instilled, parents aid somethings knowingly/unkowingly. I cannot judge since I am not a parent yet but if I can go back to when I was a kid and a teenager some 10 years ago and see the changes happening in our world? It is scary that little kids cannot have innocent fun anymore. To the previous poster, I am happy that you raise your kids in Christian beliefs and yes, I would agree with you, it is just a costume. But there are many psychos out there who have other ideas that could be very harmful.
It is a shame, we have to shield kids from almost everything in this world.

Martesa said...BB -- I'm so VERY SORRY for what happened to your daughter! She and your family are in my prayers. I hope that, somehow, they still find him, and prosecute him. Cold cases are still being solved all the time. I truly wish your daughter and your family peace. I can only imagine the pain that your whole family must have gone through, and still go through. Your message was a very important one -- thank you for sharing your story.

It's a costume, it's cute on her. She's vamping it up (as in vampire, not tramp vamp) and why Billy Ray needs slapping because he hasn't got a dirty mind about his own girls is beyond me also. If you folks haven't got anything to write about, you literally make it up and other idiots just fall in line.

Sara said...It's "just a halloween costume" until some delusional individual sees her on the street and finds an opportunity to kidnap her. I'm not going to finish that sentence. It may have been "just a halloween costume" 30 years ago. Times have changed, and so should how we raise our children. Any other way of thinking is pure ignorance. As a parent, it is your responsibility to ensure the safety of your child. This time she may be safe, but next time she may not be so lucky. Good parents set guidelines for a reason - to protect!
And, in my opinion, only a porn star should be wearing such a tight and short outfit.
