Hollyscoop TV's Diana Madison spoke to Billy Ray Cyrus at the 54th Annual Grammy Awards show, and he told us how his daughter, Miley Cyrus is reacting to Houston's passing:

vivsadar said...yes she doesnt wear this every day, yes its just a costume. but just really look at the costume it just crosses the line a bit too much. look at the boots! not only are boots hard to walk in in general...but they have heels! just think for a minute exactly how you dressed and acted when you where nine...not nineteen, just nine. and youll know deep down inside this isnt the right age for this, and no dont try and compare to dressing up in mommys heels and makeup because that is playtime in your home not stepping out deciding this is what you were going to wear in public. just saying :)

Cindy said...Dressing like the grown-ups at the party may be fun for a day. It's just a costume. What's the difference with letting a little boy wear a suit and carry a briefcase? They're pretending to be grown-up. While some may tell their kids what to wear, most, to my experience, have the kids ask to wear certain costumes, by the time they are this age. Reading anything more than "just a costume" into what someone wears to a costume party is just looking for anything bad to say, and this type of negativity carries on and comes back to the gossipmonger. Let her pretend!

I don't know about your children, but I like the idea of mine having the freedom to express theirselves whether it be in their clothing, make-up, writing, singing or whatever else inspires them. A costume is not going to determine the path a child is going to take or where that child is going to end up at. That child is going to end up where you have given that child the love, support and courage to venture.

Nothing is wrong with a healthy support of expression, but there is also something called age appropriateness! There is a reason why children have parents, even if some of them shouldn't have children....very sad! The reality is that regardless of how nuturing the environment, how rich the family, how much a loose parent plays friends with their children, the most loved child can end up in all the wrong places...there is a reason why children have parents who are suppose to guide them, rtather than set them up for situations that they are not equiped to handle!

Yet, you and all of those over indulging parents need to understand that the is made up of plenty weirdo's who prey on children. A childhood only last for the foremost yeras of anyones life, so whats the rush to sexy? When your kid is preyed uopn by one of those weirdo's (kidnapped, molested, harrassed) and a contributing factor is that you allowed them to be dressed like a full grown adult, but knew they only posses the cognitive and reasoning skills of a child. It is the TAX Payers money that funds the search and rescue and/or recovery efforts. So it take a village to raise a child and dressing our youth up like tramps is not a good idea I do not care what parenting style you wish to claim. I pay taxes and thus I have a say...have you checked the missing childrens web site lately? Did you see the news about how the FBI is cracking down on child sex slavery right here in the US? Please do not have any children until you get better points of view!

And saying the costume is sexualized does not mean viewers feel the girl looks sexy; it just means the costume is not what a child should be wearing.
