Suri Cruise Stumbles in Her High Heels

Oh, baby! Those sparkly, high-heel sandals that pint-size Suri Cruise has been sporting recently look so adorable. Especially when combined with ponytails and Elmo.
But walking the walk ain't so easy, as the famous preschooler discovered. Credit: PPNY / GSNY / Splash News
But on a recent Boston outing with her mom, Katie Holmes, Suri, 3, apparently slipped while walking on a wet sidewalk. Mom, wearing flat boots, was there to keep her from falling.
And, so, the debate continues: Is it appropriate for toddlers to wear heels?

CeCe said...'Pick their battles'? There was no room for battles when I was raising my children. I told them the way it was and if they didn't like it to bad. The parent should be more intelligent than the child. And yes, kids fall all the time. But why put something on their little feet that will be sure to make them fall. The 'slow news day' didn't keep you from reading the article. Slow Friday at your house,

Mary said...My daughters may have played in high heels around the house sometimes but they were never allowed to wear them outside. When they went outside they dressed appropriately so don't assume that all parents let the kids do any damn thing they wanted.

Jeanne said...My daughter was given a flamenco outfit, complete with tiny heels, for a gift. She LOVED the shoes! I did't let her wear them all the time, but once in a while I did. I don't see what the big deal is, if this is a tiny percentage of the time. I see plenty of children stub their toes when barefoot or trip while wearing crocs, too. She probably doesn't wear these often.

She's not doing the child's back and legs any favors even in the best conditions, but allowing them to be worn during foul, slippery weather is JUST PLAIN STUPID, OVER-INDULGENT AND CARELESS.
Katie, are you listening? This goes even if Suri begs for them. It's called being a mature, responsible mother.

Patty Roldan said...I cant believe they let her wear high heels. High Heels ruin womens feet. A child that young is already not coordinated. Kids trip and fall all the time. I hope she is not near any stairs when she wears them. Playing grown up is one thing but I believe they are trying to make a fashion statement with her. What stupid parents.

The little shoes were OK.........I thought maybe they were bought for a Halloween costume. But I have seen Suri in nothing but those shoes since then. Strange.

problems with bone structure just like the little models we read about daily. This sweet child should be aloud to be a child and inot hounded by photos because she's dressing like mommy. Dressing up like mommy should be confined to the safety of home. I worked for years in a max security facility as a Counselor for behavioral change and I speak for myself. There is no changing a pedifile. I really thought they were smarter parents than what they display.
Shame on you.

But, for them to let her wear stuff like this out and about as a NORMAL thing is completely wrong! These people need to have this kid taken from them before they damage her more! I am completely disgusted over how the other two kids that Tom has are NEVER brought up never acknowledged, etc. If their going to PIMP OUT Suri, why not pimp the other two out too? Oh wait, those kids are just "plain" and well, they were adopted so thats just not cool. The priorities these people have is disgusting and so is the Papparazzi for continually putting her out there and playing into this crap!!

I often wonder how they play on the playground with those shoes on. I'm sure it's a child that just had to wear them and mom won't say no to her precious little one. Someone will hurt themselves on those types of shoes. They even wear them higher than the ones in the picture. Little girls are trying to be too grown up too soon.
