Suri Cruise Stumbles in Her High Heels

Oh, baby! Those sparkly, high-heel sandals that pint-size Suri Cruise has been sporting recently look so adorable. Especially when combined with ponytails and Elmo.
But walking the walk ain't so easy, as the famous preschooler discovered. Credit: PPNY / GSNY / Splash News
But on a recent Boston outing with her mom, Katie Holmes, Suri, 3, apparently slipped while walking on a wet sidewalk. Mom, wearing flat boots, was there to keep her from falling.
And, so, the debate continues: Is it appropriate for toddlers to wear heels?

wishing their babies would stay babies forever......!!!!!!!
That is the mentality of a liberal mind at work....."NICE"!!!!

Inappropriate clothing too, like a tutu to the grocery store. Pick your battles. It doesn't matter. Anyone with a little girl, who had a little girl, or who was a little girl understands! No big deal.

I don't think it matters what kind of shoes she wears. Her mom caught her before she fell that is what counts. I know my kids wore all kinds of weird clothing at 3 . I am glad i don't have people taking my kids photo every time we leave the house. My kid wouldbe real embarrassed by the cowboy boots and shorts outfit he used to wear outside! poor kid will never have a normal childhood why not cut her some slack over some shoes. I would like to have the money spent on the clothes.LOL

Martesa said...She's been out in her heels before -- totally inappropriate, but then there's little that the Cruises seem to do with her that is appropriate. How about her having a play date once in a while with someone other than her parents. They are literally holding her or holding her hand practically non-stop. Let her play and be a little girl, for crying out loud! Take a cue from Jen Garner and Ben Affleck.

Dilvahnia said...No it is not appropriate for toddlers to wear heels and WTF is wrong with mothers in this day and age? I would not put something like that on my toddlers. Hell to the no. It is just sad to see that children are not being allowed to be children. Parents act like they have a doll to play dress up with.

Can't wait to see what she'll be into at age 12. So many Hollywood celebrities have their screws loose, perhaps they shouldn't be allowed to raise innocent children.

Kimi said...I totally agree with Mary. Before I had girls I thought parents were crazy when I saw some of the get-ups their little ones were wearing out and about. Shame on me for judging when I did not know better. Now I have 3 little girls of my own and they LOVE to dress up. I've learned to let the little things go and not worry so much about what people think of the princess dress or pair of sparkly shoes that have been chosen for the day.

CPU64 said...Those shoes are not child abuse. What IS child abuse is for her to be Tom's daughter. He's nuts, treats Katie like a slave and now this...
She needs a normal family.

Mary said...Parents who continue to cater to every whim their kid has will continue to raise spoiled, brats. Just say NO and stick to it. They will get over it. Some things are not negotiable and appropriate. clothing is one of them. Stop being bullied by your children and act like the adults you are supposed to be. Heels like Suri is wearing, in the above pictures, do not give her good support and are not properly secured to her feet making her more vulnerable to turning her ankles.

Babygirl said...You may not consider it child abuse but I do when the mother has on boots and the child has on heels, without socks no less, in the pouring rain I do have a little princess but in my house I am the parent not the other way around.

anna said...The shoes are open-toed and it is raining. If Suri has the tiniest cut or blister on her foot, she could get dirty water in the cut. Additionally, the shoes have had the little ankle straps removed, which secure the shoe to the foot.(Since the shoes are meant to be worn as part of a COSTUME for ballroom dancing, it is the ankle strap that add safety to the shoe.) She can play dress-up in other ways, such as putting on a princess dress. She is clearly not dressed-up, heels are part of her everyday wardrobe.

J V L said...Ah, yes...little girls often insist on wearing the most inappropriate things just because they can. Dress up is important to them.
However, that's why MOMMIES are supposed to SUPERVISE their children.
I guess a quick photo op is more important to the Cruise family than actually parenting the one child they have.
