samantha said...i had brain surgery three years ago, the first day I slept the entire day.. i don't see how anyone could coach little league considering you do have to use the restroom before you are released from the hospital... that alone can take sometime after being put to sleep..
i played softball two months after, but the same day, i highly doubt that. especially if your skull was cut open... you are so tired after having major surgery.. so tired, so drugged up...

Jennifer said...My mom had lifesaving CyberKnife surgery at Stanford a few years ago, for a spinal AVM. When she didn't call soon after, I got scared and feared the worst. Here, she was at Stanford's art museum enjoying the Rodin sculptures. She was just fine.

Me said...Sue, I had trigeminal neuralgia and they did the open brain surgery. Can I ask how long your dad had it before they realized that it was trigeminal neuralgia? Also did he have any problems after teh gamma knife? I was told that it would be more probable that the pain returned with the gamma treatment. I am only 29 years old and the pain from the neuralgia started when I was only 20, finally after 6 years they diagnosed me and then tried to treat me only to have me allergic to the one medicine that helped (and nearly killed) me. After 2 years of constant pain and nothing helping they agreed to the surgery. I would love to hear more about someone that had the same thing as me.
