OK first off everyone. The ONLY witness was a janitor there is no proof that it happened its hearsay at best. If this happened i agree it is sad and pathetic (but being a guy its exciting and sexy) but being a parent its immoral and wrong. I think my 15 yr old son would disagree. But anyways what it comes down to is this. The only proof it happened was from a possibly disgruntled (possibly snubbed by frenchie?) Janitor. Could he have had a crush on 1 of them and been rejected and is now trying to smear there reputations? Ill agree it probably happened BUT there is the possibly it didnt. There is reasonable doubt.

Let's think out of the "box"

I agree that today's schools are indeed a joke. I have taught at the high school level for over thirty years--and still love teaching--but what I see today is utterly atrocious. Teachers dress like students, tolerate bad behavior, rarely challenge students academically, and do their best to avoid hard work themselves. Kids don't write well because no one expects them to. They misbehave, even swear at faculty, and nothing is done. Students will tell you point blank that they--not adults--run their schools. Parents swoop in to rescue their darlings. Administrators and teachers do as little as possible so as to avoid controversy, in order to retire with fat retirement benefits. My heart breaks every time I read a story like this--yet again this noble profession's reputation is smeared by people who never should have entered a classroom in the first place.

akolough - My neighbor is going to retire in 2 yrs. when he can qualify for his retirement benefits. He will have taught H.S. for 25 years. He's young enough to work elsewhere, where he will no longer have to tolerate the disrespect in students and their parents. The lack of respect was the biggest motivator and what he has seen change the most, in his career. He's so excited to leave teaching and that's what makes the whole situation sad.

It really upsets me that people are saying it is the school's fault. Some schools, yes, are bad and need revamping, but most of the schools that have low scores, are, because of the population. Every student should have the same opportunities, and that is occuring where I am, but when the parents are not involved and condone the child's behavior we have a bigger problem. If the government would actually step up and say it is the parent's fault we could start getting back to the way school used to be. Students say they run the school because staff have no authority to do anything anymore. Why it is our fault that the student curses, and refuses to do work in class, I will never understand.

At least they got caught. The other 5,000 that did the same thing in other schools in the U.S. and didn't get caught, are the problem.

It is inappropriate for anyone to have sex in a classroom no matter what their sexual orientation may be. If the teachers were heterosexuals, they too would be sent to the so call rubber room.

They were NOT acting in private--they were on public property, for Pete's sake! Anyone could have (and did) walked in and seen them, especially students. Private would have been in their homes or in a motel room. Whatever happened to the notion of teachers as role models? Suddenly this 30 years plus veteran teacher is feeling very, very old.

C'mon Greg...are you serious? Yes, they are two consenting adults, but AT SCHOOL??? A school is certainly not considered a "private" location even if it had happened in the bathroom. What if it were two consenting-age children (in my state, the age of consent is 16) having sex in a discrete location at school? Would that be OK for you, as well? The fact is: they were on duty and/or located on school property. They should be prosecuted? I am also certain that the school system has some ethics guidelines they are held accountable to, as well. What kind of an example is this to the students they teach?

I'm sorry -- Did you NOT read the artical ? They were AT the School (that would be a Public Place) and they were Nude, and they were having Sex in the Classroom were the Students were coming back too. Hmmmm First would you like to sit down were someone else had just had sex? Can you say Bodily Fluids ? Can you say Disease, Aids ? How sick ! I would not want MY children any where near these two Reprehensible \ Uncontrollable people. How discusting that they could not even have enough respect for anyone let alone themselves to find a more Appropriate place. They should be FIRED on the Spot ! And NOT ever be allowed to Work with Children as they have NO reguard for them.

Sorry Greg - if they want to go out for lunch and get it on at a hotel, no problem. But if they are having sex in a classroom, as a parent I would take particular issue with their judgment. If they can't contain themselves until they are in a proper setting to conduct their romantic business, I don't trust their judgment to properly conduct themselves around children.
