Famous for: Acting, Singing

Birthdate: Aug. 26, 1993

Keke Palmer (whose less-exciting real first name is Lauren) has worked both sides of the big battle for tween media domination: Disney and Nickelodeon. After impressing critics with her performance in the spelling-themed drama, "Akeelah and the Bee," she joined Disney's stable of teen stars, recording a number of songs and starring opposite Corbin Bleu in the Disney Channel Original Movie, "Jump In!"

These days, Palmer is leading her own high-school sitcom, "True Jackson, VP", on primetime Nickelodeon. As the title character in "True Jackson," Palmer plays a fashion-forward teen who is tapped by a big-name designer to be a vice president of his company.

Palmer's debut CD, "So Uncool," was released in 2007 on Atlantic Records. It has a very authentic R&B sound, differentiating it from the work of many of her music-making peers. After signing with the famously edgy Interscope Records, Palmer's second disc is due out in 2010.
