Famous For: Singing
Birthdate: March 14, 1994
Itty bitty pop star Justin Bieber is literally a product of YouTube. The baby-faced Canadian teen was discovered after posting videos of himself singing on the popular video-sharing Web site. Now he makes real music videos, with production values and guest stars like Usher.
One might assume that some of the charm would be lost, though, when in the "official" video for his hit, "One Less Lonely Girl," he is shown wooing a girl who looks comically older than him. Thousands of screaming tween girls disagree. Sly marketing helped the could-have-been-unknown teen's first album, "My World", debut at No. 6 on the Billboard charts. Four singles -- "One Less Lonely Girl," "Favorite Girl," "Love Me," and "One Time" -- each a hit in its own right, were successfully dribbled out as teasers before the CDs release. Now, when JB (as Usher calls him) tries to hold an CD-signing at a music store in a shopping mall, the place gets so mobbed by stampeding fans that police have to shut it down -- as happened at Long Island, New York's Roosevelt Field Mall in November 2009. So much power for such a little guy.
Start by teaching him that it is safe to do so.
