Famous for: Acting

Birthdate:
April 19, 1986

Leighton Meester may have been one of those "Hey, it's that girl" bit actors on various TV series for years (including "Veronica Mars," "Boston Public," "24," "7th Heaven," "8 Simple Rules," and "Entourage"), but now everybody knows her as the star of the controversial "Gossip Girl." On the show, Meester plays Blair Waldorf, the complicated socialite under the scrutiny of the titular anonymous blogger.

Meester has a few feature film roles to her credit as well. She is taking the scream queen route through Hollywood, as most of her roles have been in horror films: "Hangman's Curse," "Drive-Thru," "The Haunting of Sorority Row," "Killer Movie," and the upcoming "The Roommate"(with Aly & AJ's Alyson Michalka).

Meester also has a recording contact, but has yet to release an album. She has provided guest vocals, however, for the band Cobra Starship ("Good Girls Go Bad"), recorded a cover of the holiday class, "Christmas (Baby Please Come Home)" for the compilation album, "A Very Special Christmas 7"; and released one single, "Somebody to Love," which features R&B hitmaker Robin Thicke.
