Noah Cyrus, 9, Caught On Tape Being Provocative - Again

Nine-year-old Noah Cyrus, sister of tween sensation Miley, filmed herself covering the provocative lyrics to "Tik Tok" by pop star Ke$ha.
Noah has been in the news a lot this year, thanks to her hair-raising displays of sexuality in photographs showing the child posing with a stripper pole and wearing a sexy Halloween costume. Oh, and let's not forget another viral video that shows her dancing to Akon's "Smack That," while Miley and friends cheer her on.
Gawker shares the latest YouTube sensation from Noah, which has her singing along with lyrics that include such gems as "brush my teeth with a bottle of Jack" and "I'm talking about everybody getting crunk, crunk / Boys tryin' to touch my junk, junk" with a creepy-looking dude in a hoodie and dark glasses. Is this the babysitter? Some guy who happened to wander by the Cyrus household? We just don't know.
Memo to Billy Ray Cyrus: It's not cute when a 9-year-old says she's going to use liquor to improve her oral hygiene and invites the neighborhood boys for a slap-and-tickle. Noah may be destined for stardom like her big sister, but allowing this kind of material to be disseminated makes us wonder just who is minding the store -- or the children.
We have two words of warning for the Cyrus clan: Lindsay Lohan.

SKL said...Look, I don't agree with everything about this kid's upbringing, but it's wrong for you folks at ParentDish to pick on this 9-year-old kid every chance you get. The videos you've shown of her are no worse than what a lot of kids are doing at her age; much tamer than some. Yet you wouldn't plaster all the anonymous kids' (or their parents') dumb mistakes on this site. Someday your kid might make a dumb video and post it on YouTube or Facebook; would you want a big public stink to be made of it?
Think about the potential effects of these uncharitable attacks on a little girl. No possible good can come of this. It's just mean.

There is nothing wrong with her being silly to a popular song. It is wrong for us to critize other parenting styles. Miley Cyrus turned out pretty good and there is no doubt in my mind her sister will as well. And all the bumps in the road are just part of being a kid. There are plenty of screw up kids who's parents/siblings aren't stars.

Susan said...I saw this more as a criticism of the parents, not nine year old Noah. Having said that, I know I make parenting mistakes everyday, but they do not include letting a nine year old have acess to social networking sites or anything else on the internet unless I am sitting with them supervising. My kids got free access when they were a lot older than nine.

LaDawn said...I have three kids and at ages 14,13 and 7. Kids do the darnest things sometimes. We have all had moments when our kids have said things in stores or around people that we don't want them to say. Or how about them doing embarressing things at the park or pool. She is not different then any other child. Kids will be kids and just because her family is a celeb one doesn't make it exempt. Let her be a kid.
