Product Recall: CYBEX Strollers
The strollers pose a fingertip amputation and laceration hazard. Credit: CPSC
The stroller's hinge mechanism poses a fingertip amputation and laceration hazard to the child when the consumer is unfolding or opening the stroller. There has been one report of a child placing his finger in the hinge, resulting in finger fracture.
The recall includes Ruby, Onyx and Topaz models of CYBEX umbrella strollers. (The word "CYBEX" is printed on the side of the recalled stroller.) Parents should stop using the stroller immediately and contact the company for a free hing cover retrofit kit. Do so by calling 800-593-5522 between 8:30 a.m. and 5:30 p.m. on weekdays or visit the Web site at regallager.com.

I mean, honestly. ONE child gets hurt being STUPID - sorry, but it's true - and they issue a recall? Over something that people should know not to do? You put your hand on a hinge and then flex that hinge, you're likely to get pinched.
I'm sorry the kid got hurt. I really am. But why should the company now have to issue a massive recall? And yeah, I know it's "voluntary," but if they didn't do it, how long would it be before the CPCC or whomever else complelled them to do so?
Honestly people. Start using your common sense, or we're ALL in trouble.
