Phil and Teds Sport Buggy "Version 2" With Doubles Kit
The Lowdown: A member of the increasingly popular "inline" category of strollers, Phil &Teds Dash is a convertible single-to-double stroller. Its unique Doubles Kit allows this sporty stroller to convert to a relatively compact double.
Attaching the doubles kit is simple, but there is a learning curve. Initially, we found it took us quite a bit of time to strap two children into the Dash. At 23 pounds, the Dash isn't a light stroller, but it's comparable to similar models. Its all-terrain tires make for a smooth ride, but the stroller's heft makes it difficult to maneuver with one hand. The real seller on the Dash is its narrow frame. Sure, compared to other singles, the 24-inch wheel base is fairly wide, but you'll be hard pressed to find a stroller that can accommodate two children that won't knock other pedestrians off of the sidewalk, and the Dash does that just fine.
One thing to consider with the Dash, and any inline double stroller, is the lack of storage. When the Doubles Kit is in place, there is little space for stashing additional necessities, such as a diaper bag. Plus, we found it difficult to hang any sort of purse or diaper bag from the back handles without bumping our knees on it. Folding the Dash does take two hands, but we managed to perfect the fold after just a few attempts. However, once folded, the stroller is still large. Phil & Teds recommends removing the wheels for a more compact fold, but we found that to be a bit of a hassle. The Dash is a better option for families who don't plan to do much car travel with the stroller and have a large storage space to stash the stroller.
You'll Want It If: You're looking for a stroller that can easily accommodate one or two children that is great for city walks and you have plenty of home and car storage space.
