Kate Gosselin's "Dancing With the Stars" debut on Monday was less than stellar. In fact, judge Bruno Tonioli said it looked like her partner Tony Dovolani was "pushing a shopping cart around the floor," US Weekly reports.
Gosselin says "My body and my brain were at war," during the performance.
As the mother of eight young children, critics have slammed Gosselin for taking so much time away from her family to appear on a dance show, even accusing her of being obsessed with fame. Gosselin maintains that she's only doing the show to support her kids.
"But I hope that people see in me that I'm a mom like everyone else, just working to provide for my kids -- I mean if you have to work, isn't this so fun?" she says.
Dancing hasn't come easy to Gosselin, who has built a rehearsal space in the basement of her Pennsylvania home. In fact, she says learning how to dance is more frustrating than "giving birth to sextuplets," Us Weekly reports.
Somehow, that comparison seems like a stretch. Still, we'll take her word for it.

Jeanne said...Yep, she knows she can't dance. But her kids need to be supported, so she's willing to humiliate herself in order to get that paycheck. Lots of women do this very thing..they just sell themselves out in other ways to put food in their kids' mouths.
As for her ex..she won't see any support from him any time soon. The schmuck (good word that) is too lazy and spoiled to consider work outside the television industry..and he's proven himself so lazy that no one in that industry would give him a job even sweeping the floor.
Kate...You go, girl! It's hard but you're trying. And I'd be snappy and crabby too if I were under such pressure. Good luck to you, and God bless.

has skyrocketed into outer space! The fact that she has admitted
her in ability to dance, then gone ahead and done it, even to the nastiness of the judges and press, makes her one hard act to follow. She is an inspiration. Who of us out here could pull off
what she does and look damn good doing it? not many.
U GO GIRL!!! You'll always have my vote.

Renee Sosa said...I am so glad to finally see Kate getting kudos from readers! I believe she is a great mother and was a good homemaker. After all, who could have that many kids and do all that she did every day? Like feed them three organic meals a day and keep her home clean and organized. A lot of people were downing her because she yelled at John a couple of times. Who hasn't yelled at their mates once and then felt bad afterward? That doesn't make you a bad person and it doesn't mean you don't love or respect your mate. I mean good grief, she had to deal with six toddlers at once! Johns lucky that's all she did was yell! lol
