Richard Heene, better known as "Balloon Boy's dad," will complete the rest of his sentence with home detention, UPI reports.

Heene, who was sentenced to 90 days in jail and four years of probation after pleading guilty to attempting to influence a public servant, will wear an electronic ankle device and be at home at least 12 hours per day until April 4.

Prosecutors said Heene and his wife, Mayumi, staged their son Falcon's disappearance in a homemade balloon last October because they wanted to star in a reality show, UPI reports.

Mayumi will serve 20 days in jail after her husband's sentence is complete.
