Little Boy Weeps When Told He's Not a Single Lady, But Dad Saves the Day
Filed under: Funny Stuff
Our vote for father of the day goes to this guy, Carlos Whittaker, who tells his rockin' 3-year-old that he's not a Single Lady. Okay, so daddy dearest momentarily rained on his preschooler's parade, but what makes us love him is how quickly he recovered.
As soon as he saw little Losiah stop dancing in his car seat, he says, "Yeah, you are. You're a Single Lady. Sorry...I was just kidding...You're a Single Lady, okay?"
Then, the paternalia, a pastor and Christian rocker himself, whose album, Ragamuffin Soul hits iTunes soon, joins in the chorus, followed by a heartfelt confession: "I'm a horrible father."
Dude, in our eyes, you're pretty awesome.
Whittaker, 35, and his wife adopted Losiah from South Korea back in 2006 and he told ParentDish in an exclusive phone interview, "My son is the joy of my life."
So, where did he get the name Losiah? Whittaker says he's always wanted to give his son his name, but figured that a Korean kid named Carlos would be cause for curious questioning throughout the boy's life. Since his wife liked the name Isaiah, they combined it with Carlos and came up with Losiah. His daughters have equally cool names: 7-year-old Sohaila, which is Arabic for morning star, and 6-year-old Seanna, which is Celtic for God is near.
As further tribute to his blended family, his song, God of Second Chances, alludes to the idea that "adopted kids are being given a second chance at a great life," he says.
But back to Single Ladies...how did the kids come to dig on Beyonce's hit?
"Alvin and Chipmunks: The Squeakquel," Whittaker says, laughing. "Ever since we saw that movie, they have not stopped singing that song."
For more fun with the family and his music, follow Whittaker on his blog at RagamuffinSoul.com. We certainly will be.

I think you've got a warped mind. The only reason any kids are going to poke fun at a name like Losiah is if they have horrible parents like you that teach them that it's okay to make fun of children with "different" names. Some Christian values YOU have. Of course it's irresponsible to be filming while driving, the mom should have been the one filming it, however, this is just adorable. The little boy is young and doesn't know better. It's not like the kid is going to grow up and be like oh my dad said I was a single lady when I was three so now I'm going to grow up and dress like a girl!!! If you had any education on the development of children, you would know that a child is not going to remember anything from that day. It's just harmless fun. Before you start trashing on other people, maybe you need to go back and reanalyze your relationship with GOD because the Christian values you're learning are completely disfigured. People like you are the reason that people like Hitler existed.

They will be great kids. They clearly have loving parents.

Randy Howard said...Tho poor little guy is PROBABLY mis understanding what he is being told. He sings his heart out, and is told he is not what he is singing about. HE hears that he can't SING. Witrh that, he is disappointed. Tears come easily to the very young, and it's got NOTHING to do with gender. Telling him to "MAN UP!!" will do good at all, and may even do irreparable harm.

A three-year-old has no concept of sexuality and singing along to a song will not make him transgendered or homosexual. I know they say ignorance is bliss but in your case I truly believe that ignorance is sheer stupidity. I sincerely hope you never reproduce and if you already have, God help the children you're raising.

Christine said...My grandson loved Minnie Mouse when he was a little guy. So much so that when we took him to Disney World, he wanted Minnie's hat and ears. (His favorite color was pink!) Now he's almost 20 and will be leaving for the National Guard in a month. Moral of the story? Let kids be kids. They eventually grow up (unfortunately).

The little boy can sing All the single Ladies, I bet Beyonce gets a kick out of it too. This family Rocks. I would put money on it too that they feel blessed to have this little boy.
To all the negitive viewers, get a grip. Life is to short.
