A nice Emily or Sarah or Melissa? Soo not Hollywood. Names like Brian, William or Ken? Yeah, right. Because, apparently, when you're a big-time star -- be it actor, musician, model or athlete -- it seems there is a weird-quotient that must be factored in when it comes to your child's name. Whether you borrow from the supermarket (Apple, Sage, Thyme), an atlas (Bronx, Brooklyn, Memphis) or superhero-sound-alikes (Kal-el, Moxie CrimeFighter, Pilot Inspektor), stars are guaranteeing their offspring will stand out in one way or another.
Here's a list of ParentDish's 100 weirdest baby names, in alphabetical order. Hey, the richer the parents are, the less likely you are to be teased. Just ask Tallulah, Rumer and Scout.

FEHL said...Most of the names are NOT wierd. The author of the article has NO imagination. I thought such a talent was a prerequisite for being in this field. Even Enstein said Imagination was MORE important than intelligence. It is de regeur for all serious livestock breeders to have original names for the products of their breeding. THE most famous Holstein of all Times, who has been dead for at least 45 years was : Round Tree Rag Apple Elevation. "Elevation" bloodlines are still advertiosed in Dairy magazines and a lucky few might still have his frozen sperm. Native Americans routinely have imaginative names. They did not have Christian names until after their land was stolen and their culture forbidden. How would you like to be named John Smith CXX ! Although the Irish used the same limited number of names, there were always nicknames to distiguis one James Smith from the dozens of others. Sometimes the even used the words on the side of a boxcar as a nickname.
I thought we should celebrate diversity, nes pas ?
