A nice Emily or Sarah or Melissa? Soo not Hollywood. Names like Brian, William or Ken? Yeah, right. Because, apparently, when you're a big-time star -- be it actor, musician, model or athlete -- it seems there is a weird-quotient that must be factored in when it comes to your child's name. Whether you borrow from the supermarket (Apple, Sage, Thyme), an atlas (Bronx, Brooklyn, Memphis) or superhero-sound-alikes (Kal-el, Moxie CrimeFighter, Pilot Inspektor), stars are guaranteeing their offspring will stand out in one way or another.
Here's a list of ParentDish's 100 weirdest baby names, in alphabetical order. Hey, the richer the parents are, the less likely you are to be teased. Just ask Tallulah, Rumer and Scout.

Sarinna said...Those names aren't too odd at all, besides maybe the Stonewall name and all the capitals in weird places... other than that they're just normal names put together that will be annoying for the kids to have to fill in the bubbles on state tests ;) And I think any boy would think it's cool to have a name like "Blade." And if they don't like it they don't have to tell their friends what their full names are, they can pick and choose what they want to be called. My kids' names are Amari Kae Olene and Lelund Ray Cathall. I hate Cathall, but my husband refused to budge. As for me, I'm Sarinna Lorelle and I love it :)

Why do you wish everyone to be cookie cutter copies of each other?
Granted, some of the names are a little ridiculous, some of them are quite pretty sounding and just fine as names.
People need to raise their kids to be more accepting. There's no reason a child should be made fun of just because their name isn't Sarah or John. I was raised to be very accepting of other people and my parents never once complained "oh, it's too hard, I already do enough, blah blah, I'm lazy".

Raven said...WHO decided any of this crap? Such as, the richer your parents are the less likely you are to be teased? Brooke No Talent Shields a "celebrity?" You guys are making up your own crap and presenting it as fact. It's not. My kids name is Ravenna and she's no more likely to be teased than any of the kids of these people. It's the parents who are responsible for preventing kids from being teased. You can homeschool, you know. Stop pushing this aristocracy thing like there are two classes of people, them the "elect" and everyone else. It's freakin' propaganda and it's dumbing down this country.
