Is This 'Single Ladies' Video Too Hot for Tots?

The sexualization of children is a difficult topic to address. This dance routine and costumes is totally inappropriate and damaging to the girl's psyche. 7 year olds should not define themselves as sexual, particularly because they have NO IDEA what sexual or sex is at this age. The promoters of this think like child molesters if they think this is Ok.

The girls are talented, but their outfits detract from their talent, because at age seven, it is inappropriate attire and sends the wrong message...that girls' bodies, not their talent, are the focus.

Oh my goodness! I am 18 and i see this type of dancing all the time by adults and older teens but for a 7 year old to be tought how to dance like this is completely inappropriate! They are basically teaching them to dance like strippers! If i were a parent of one of those children i would have pulled her out and taken her to another dance school and i would complain about this.

I don't think so...As a Daddy who has a 6 yr. old in dance, I would have pulled my daughter out off the team, and away from that dance studio for a dance like that. What are the parents thinking anyway? How could THE PARENTS agree to send their little girls out dressed like that? I would like to ask the dance instructors what the hell they were thinking. No little girls should be dressed like that, doing thoughs kinds of dance moves. Period.

NO...it is only inappropriate for the sexual predators! These girls are fabulous dancers, and have no idea about "being seductive" yet.

What's the difference between this and a bathing suit? Heck they even have toddler bikinis now.... it's a COSTUME. Start worrying about it when they start wearing it to school, mall,wherever just because they feel like wearing it. For this occasion, it's fine.

The movements were inappropriate, but those girls were AMAZING dancers. They should have done some other choreography so show case their talents...Young kids that dance that well shouldn't be given choreography like that. As a dance teacher, I know that there are MANY other ways to show how talented a young dancer is.

This is a pedifiles dream come true. WTF is wrong with people? Nothing against the girls they are grate but hard to watch only because of what they are dressed in. Do they have to be dressed that way.

Personally no this is totally NOT inappropriate. With this society it is actually very less revealing costumes and the dance moves are way more "material" persay than what more people are wearing these days, they did amazing and I agree with the below comment these girls did WONDERFUL and looked like they were having a blast and anyone who has anything wrong to say to this is just jealous and needs to tune into the 21st century!

I completely agree. As a parent and a grandparent (of girls who dance) I am SO sick of dance teachers who think nothing of sexualizing little girls. One only has to watch the news to see the effects of this on our culture. The girls know only that the costumes are fun and that their routine excites the crowd; they don't have any idea what goes on inside the heads of adults. Adults need to quit rationalizing that it's harmless. It is not.

This dance (?) video was totally WRONG!! What in the world was the dance coach thinking? He or she should be kicked in the butt! This video made me sick. I am all about dancing etc., however; at this young age acting like they are selling their bodies. The song was very wrong for someone their age. Come on parents learn to speak up, your all the kids have to protect them, not advertise them!!

Gimmie a break, most of you Mothers and Gramndmothers have bought your 10 and under girls skimpier bikinis to wear at the beach! Look at the moves those girls are doing, and you're worried about what their costumes look like? I would be taking my child and my money to a different dance studio!
