The daughter of the Material Girl is now a cover girl.
Madonna's 13-year-old daughter, Lourdes Leon, makes her magazine debut on the cover of the June issue of Quality, a German title. Unfortunately, our German skills are limited to "Gesundheit," so we can't read the article.
We tried the translation option, but that produced odd-yet-hilarious sentences that range from kind of awkward ( "Her look, now copied millions of times resembles that of the young Madonna at the beginning of their careers") to completely bizarre ("Sun empires are planned").
Madonna has mostly kept Lourdes out of the spotlight until recently, when she's traipsed the red carpet with her trendy teen and they collaborated on a juniors' fashion line together. Still, mama Madonna wants her daughter's priorities to stay in check, saying in a recent interview, "I feel like she needs to get into high school and focus on her studies, her lessons. She got into the high school of the performing arts. She has a lot of work to do. I don't want her to be distracted."
Strict mom or not, we still think Lourdes is one "Lucky Star."

Heidi said...Oh come on! She's a beautiful young girl. And as bizarre as Madonna may be, it sounds like she's trying to keep her daughter somewhat grounded. While talent is required and you have to audition to get in, the High School of the Performing Arts is a PUBLIC school. Madonna gets points for that in my book. How many celebrity/politician offspring go to public school?
