Destiny and Disney: Couple Realizes They Crossed Paths as Children
Filed under: Weird But True, Funny Stuff
Alex and Donna Voutisinas of Boynton Beach, Fla., met and fell in love at work, and they were about to get married when they realized they had crossed paths before ... as kids at Disney World.
The couple was looking through old family pictures for their wedding video when they came across a picture of a then 5-year old-Donna and her brothers at Disney World and realized Alex's dad was pushing him in a stroller in the background, WPTV.com reports. At the time, Donna's family had just moved to Florida from New York, and Alex's family lived in Canada.
"It's unbelievable," Donna says. "I still get chills to this day."

Reality Check said...It only SEEMS that way because of the fluke chance of a photograph being involved. If you were to actually track all of the millions of people you have passed on crowded streets (and parks) over your entire life, you would realize that you have been within close proximity to just about everyone you know at one time or another before you think you actually met them. I had a friend in Los Angeles with an actual photographic memory (not just a good memory - a virtually perfect memory, at least for faces). Wherever we went, she could pick out people and say where they had been the last time she saw them. She would astound people with this talent, making them feel like she had been stalking them for weeks - even months. "You were in Macy's three days ago, and I saw you outside of Taco Bell a few days before that. You were in the same movie theater in the middle of about the fourth row from the back a couple weeks ago, and we passed you on the Universal Citywalk earlier that same day." The only surprise here was that a photo happened to record the moment. Probably over half of people passed by their spouse at some point before they think they met for the "first time."

Bill in Detroit said...My wife and I met via the internet ... and lived ~650 miles apart. These two lived even further apart at the time of this coincidence ... it's a good long hike from Canada to Florida ... and probably did not meet at this time. I don't attach 'miracle' status to anything, but for these two to meet a second time beats some pretty long odds.
