Father's Day Gift Idea: Recycled Tie Wallets
Filed under: Going Green, Fashion
Knot not required. Credit: Narwhal Co.
This is not your father's necktie. Oh wait -- it may actually be your father's necktie. But with a twist.
Narwhal breathes new life into gently-used vintage neckties by recycling them into men's wallets and other accessories. Choose from the tie-fold wallet with four card-sized pockets, or go minimalist with the low-profile Sattley Slim.
While you're browsing, check out their fashionable wrist wear, made from the skinny end of the tie fastened with mother-of-pearl buttons from old western shirts.
The best part? Dad gets to enjoy his new tie without having to worry about tying that perfect Windsor Knot.
Available at Narwhal Co., $19.99-$23.99.

trixie said...Well, if you look back through Cindy's previous posts, she spells "ulgy" over and over (among other words). Too funny!

Maybe not a wallet, but perhaps an ipod cover or a phone case? I now have tons of ideas for ties, maybe a headband?

mannamedjoe said...Mimi, You are the typical "Natzi" grammar teacher, always thinking you are above everyone and thinking it is YOUR job to correct every word that someone writes. People like you are so boring and lets face it Mimi dear, the word ugly describes YOU perfectly, regardless how anyone spells it! I know you think you are perfect so try this one on for size; Next time you feel you are so perfect, try walking on water!

Michelle said...Geez, why all the nasty comments? I think these are kinda cool and I like that they're recycled. Did anyone check out the website? The picture posted here is not a good representation of the product, in my opinion. This wouldn't be a good gift for my dad, but maybe a younger, "hipper" dad or husband. Nice patterns for gals, too.
