This dancing baby, who hails from the dance capital of the universe, Brazil, grooves an enviable samba. But many don't believe it's real video, including Today show anchor Ann Curry.
My money is on authenticity.
As a dancer all my life, I've seen kids, and yes, babies, who can move like this. They see their families get down and the little ones then do what they do best, mimic. It's not all that difficult to connect the dots.
Let's hope the family continues to post videos of the dancing baby so we can watch him bust a move on a regular basis.

Pamela said...I didn't think about the table until you mentioned it but now that you did, it IS stupid to have the baby dancing on the table instead of a safe, flat surface. He would look just as good and there would be less chance of a horrible accident... Perhaps it's b'c I'm not a mom myself that it didn't immediately come to mind, but now that you pointed it out, it's all that I can think about!!

Cathy said...I think it's real.. He is obviously mimicking others he has seen dance. The kids got the rhythm!!! He is still learning coordination, that is obvious and normal for his age.. but WATCH OUT!!!! In another year or 2 that kid's gonna dominate the dance floor!!!! =D

GrandmotherofaDancer said...My grandson is now six years old and can dance very well.. When he was two years of age he was an excellent dancer and much to my surprise when I went to bring him home from visiting his other grandparents in Mexico, I only found out how good he really was. He danced on stage with one of Mexico's very famous nightclub singers. The audience loved him and of course, I was so proud of my little man. So kids from the cultural countries that are known for their dancing, can dance at very early ages... It is born into them..!

If he continues to develope in this way, I'm sure he will be able to make a great contribution to society.

Belle said...He looks very healthy to me. What has his dancing have to do with his brain? If you have children can they dance? My 2 year ild greatgrand dtr. loves to do the dance of the caribbean, and we lovee to see her do it. This brings back childhood memories. Iet the little ones enjoy what life has to offer them now, stop putting a damper on it. To all the other bloggers.get a life. He may be in diapers now,but a lot of you will be using them later(Depends)LOL

Mommy said...This looks real to me. I would guess he's in his 2's. He is probably watching someone and copying him/her, but the movements are inconsistent enough to be babyish and real. I think he's adorable. Anyone who has kids knows that babies that age love to move to the music.
